Hunting and killing Republicans is satire?

reply

Have you seen the movie, snowflake? I have.

reply

Hunting and killing anyone could be satire depending on the script. This movie is definitely satire.

reply

Wouldn't be satire if blm's were being hunted.

reply

I think it would be cuz everyone dies in the movie. Only one left and we don’t know if she’s conservative or liberal.

reply

You got that right! ALL HELL would have broken loose!

😎

reply

It’s a movie depicting how both sides are just a different type of crazy who thinks they’re doing the right thing. It’s also discussing how far how you actually have to be leaning to be considered an extremist.

Sorry if you’re offended, but it’s absolutely satire.

reply

Indeed. You have the elites mocking the "deplorables" for owning guns and yet they are perfectly happy to own guns as well and use them to kill.

reply

Not sure they're specifically identified as Republicans. Just as idiots. Same thing maybe. Still funny.

reply

I was thinking of them more as liberals and conservatives. It was more about the ideology clash than political parties.

reply

Up to a point, I could be one of those being hunted.....and I can see it is clearly a satire....even if not particularly profound.

I mean it should be hard to take too much offense...since all the insufferable liberals are dead by the end.

reply

I'm a right handed, leftist voter, I cheered when the liberals died in this film. They were all aweful. I don't want to kill anyone with different political opinions. I might be open to a peaceful succession.

reply

Secession might be the way to go at this point. It would be a shame to break up the union after fighting a bloody civil war to preserve it, but it seems increasingly unlikely that liberals and conservatives can co-exist indefinitely.

reply

I did too because they were assholes, but the word is spelled awful.

😎

reply

Grr-uff.

reply

And that was a good thing! I watched it on a DVD, and I applauded at the end!

😎

reply

Yeah, both sides are insane...as accurately depicted in this movie.

reply

Only one side is depicted as insane in this movie, which is accurate.

reply

There needed to be a LOT more satire in this movie. What satire there is happens in very brief flashes. Instead, it is just the 1,000,000th version of "The Most Dangerous Game."

reply

Never knock “The Most Dangerous Game”. It’s one of the best short stories ever written. I know because I’ve read them all.

reply

Well, yeah, it can work. "Hard Target" is a great version! John Woo is just too much fun. But, this version just seemed unsure of what it wanted to be.

reply

Considering how the MAGAs are made out to be heroes, I do not see why they are complaining.

reply

The only one made to be a hero was Snowball. And she was brought there by mistake so we don't know her political affiliation. Might have none since she didn't express any (or i don't remember).

reply

Pretty sure she was Conservative, since she was in the armed forces and was fairly pro-gun about her actions.

Plus, she could take care of herself, something Liberals are unfamiliar with.

reply

A keen observation, and I don't believe she ever did. And she is now my all time favorite movie BAD ASS!

😎

reply

Like Athena said, they're academically- challenged. Agreed.

reply

Pretty funny.

reply

And the Leftists were morally challenged. They were killers and assholes.

reply

The movie was originally hyped as a thriller. Only after the backlash (and poor preview screenings) did it become a satire.

reply

If you watch this movie and don't think it was always meant to be satire, I don't know what to tell you.

reply

I am just stating a fact.

I repeat: The movie was originally hyped as a thriller. Only after the backlash (and poor preview screenings) did it become a satire.

The reason I would possibly watch a film with such a worn out plot is because of Hilary Swank. Even her talent can't suck me in. I love her talent but she makes some of the worst choices in the business.

reply

Unless they went back and rewrote and reshot it after the screenings, it was always a satire. It's not especially subtle.

reply

You are correct, Buckets. It was obviously meant as a satire. And it satirized both sides, which made it great!
And Crystal (Betty Gilpin) is now my favorite new all time movie Bad Ass!

😎

reply

Satire or not, there were no liberals portrayed sympathetically in this film. That on its own should negate the criticism from the Trump camp.
