The Child's age

I'm sure this has been asked and answered but I just got around to watching the show and I'm not scrolling through pages and pages of posts.

If Yoda died at ~ 900 years old of natural causes, he would have been about 90 in human years. So at 50 The Child would have been like a 5 year old kid, not a toddler; or does the species age on an exponential / logarithmic scale? Why is he a toddler?

Very little has been revealed about Yoda's species. For all we know he got sick and died young, at roughly 900 years. The idea that this is their maximum lifespan is pure speculation. What if the truly elderly are two or three thousand years old? Think of a human living alone in the wilderness - they might die of cancer or something very treatable such as high blood pressure, because they aren't seeing a doctor and getting modern health care. Like Yoda living alone on Dagobah. We just have to take it at face value that the Mandalorian's child is what a 50-year-old member of their race is like, still basically a toddler.

Makes sense.
