episode 8 sucked for several reasons.

for several reasons..... the whole standoff thing was beyond ridiculous, those stormtroopers in black (which i only believe we have seen in rogue one?) took out all the stormtroopers where mando and the gang were, then they added tons of regular stormtroopers to back them up, there even was a fucking tie fighter...... yet, time was wasted setting up a ewave gun.... why not use the tie fighter gun?
and then all of these guys were taken out by a single droid on a speeder!

come on now...

problem here is, all the enemies pose no real threat, so there is no reason for suspense.
there is no real dangerous enemy, our heroes can defeat them all with no trouble, so why keep watching?

edit: black stormtroopers are Death troopers

"Death troopers were highly trained, elite, and fanatically loyal stormtroopers that served the Galactic Empire. They wore specialized, experimental stealth armor."

our heroes took them out like it was nothing........ this was a bullshit episode ...smh

I saw it as kind of a tongue-in-cheek homage to classic Western\action movies. I was expecting Gideon to outline his evil plan while waiting for the cavalry to arrive and save the heroes.

It seemed that the ewave gun was a bluff, and one the heroes called. Gideon knew he needed them alive, and hoped to threaten them into negotiating so they'd come out and be captured. Until he had Baby Yoda he couldn't really kill them, or he would have fired the gun once it was set up, or took them out with the tie fighter.

As for the enemies posing no real threat, well, they did almost kill the Mandalorian. They weren't formidable one-on-one, but their sheer numbers made them dangerous. It's like arguing that Clint Eastwood faced no real threat when he marched into the saloon at the end of Unforgiven. ***spoiler alert***

He shoots and kills them all, but it was still something like 10 on 1, or whatever.

Very cheesy for me. The showdown, the helmet reveal, the magical healing spray that brings people back from the brink of death, the pointless murder of a great secondary character, some random lava river running through sewers WTF. The ending soured the whole show for me.

I do agree that the season ended on a sour note however, the series as a whole was very very good.
I throughly enjoyed eps 7 & 8.
Mando just has a knack of getting out of tight situations and the team he put together for the final fight was great.

I've gotten over it. I still like the show. At least what they were doing was fun and inventive. First seasons are typically shaky and these guys are launching a live action Star Wars show for the first time. It's fine.

It's Bacta and it's not the first time it's helped someone back from the brink of death. Remember Luke on Hoth, after Han found him almost frozen to death? He got put in a Bacta tank and was as good as new.

reply

Oh i'm down with the tank. Just not the spray version. Maybe good for cuts and scrapes. Just a bit too fantastic for me. I mean why do you have to be dunked in that tank all day if you can just huff some spray? That's a video game heal potion.

reply

Probably because nearly freezing to death is worse than a concussion. Or bacta technology evolved since TES? I mean, it's like more than ten years after Hoth and just look at what has happened with our technology in ten years. Also, it's a world with plasma blade wielding magic space monks.
