Episode 4 is the First Mis-step.

This show started gritty and strong. But Ep4 was a bit eye-rolling, cloying and "Dances with Wolves" for me. Please don't turn this guy into a total feminist pussy. Lest we forgot, he chopped a fellow in half the first episode. I don't want to see total redemption. Keep him morally grey, please.

It was excellent.

It was a highly rushed, badly-directed mess. Line delivery seemed off. All of a sudden emotionally-suppressed Mando and that woman are a thing... because the script says so. And we are supposed to be instantly emotionally invested in random villagers... because. It was all tell and no show. It couldn't even tell a cliche story well.

I liked the first 3, but this was just bad.

It was sweet ass sweet!

you like eating ass huh?
guess that is why you like that episode :-(

That's very witty.

I fully expect him to fight off scumbags and rival bounty hunters in the next episode, if the hose-nose at the end was any indication. There are still people after the Baby Yoda, and frankly, that's not gonna stop unless the Mandalorian can hunt down the people sending those bounty hunters and kill them off.

The thing with this show is, there's very little continuity in it - no exciting storyline to advance - it's basically just a mystery of the week show, wrapped in decent Star Wars clothing.

It had great potential, but the no character or story development, even build-up, means it's only a 5/6 of 10 for me - very bland, planet/mystery of the week.

It was, indeed, the worst of the lot but 3 out of 4 is golden compared to Solo and TLJ. This ep was cliche'd to the hiltbut watchable.
Lone Wolf and Cub in space is cool by me. It did just fine with a new mini-story each issue with the continuous foundation of being on the run with a bounty on his head. 3/4 was about the % of quality in it too (well, more like 5/6).

Pedro Pascal Is the Mandalorian, but That’s Not Him Starring in Every Episode
https://www.imdb.com/news/ni62713622?ref_=nws_sb_nwc_li

Pedro Pascal receives top billing on “The Mandalorian” for playing the title character, but it turns out that’s not actually Pascal underneath the helmet and armor in every episode of the buzzy Disney+ “Star Wars” series. In fact, at least one episode of “The Mandalorian” did not feature Pascal in any capacity. Bryce Dallas Howard tells Vulture that Pascal was absent from the fourth episode, “Sanctuary,” which she directed. Pascal did not act in the episode because he was starring on Broadway in “King Lear.”

I enjoyed the episode a bit, but basically felt like I was watching an episode of Hercules or Xena.

agree 100%..... the intro with the village and then the attack had a refugee welcome aid vibe.
nothing like the previous episodes that had a great and pure star wars vibe.

then enter that woman warrior, and them rescuing the poor villagers.... wow, that episode sucks, directed by Bryce Dallas Howard ! well you don't say?

It was great!
