Gotta Wait for the Next Episode

I like it.

When I finished episode one, and the credits rolled, I was already anticipating the jarring truncation of the credits that Netflix et al. force upon you, and was pleasantly surprised that the default is to allow the viewer to view the complete work. Even better, no next episode yet! There's something nice about waiting to watch in that it forces us all to watch together. I miss that aspect of pre-streaming television-- that everyone would talk the next day about something they'd watched the previous night at the same time as everyone else.

Beyond all that... wow, what a first episode! This felt like a continuation of the look, feel, and mood of the original Star Wars film. Even the low-tech devices in use were a nice callback to the franchise when it wasn't yet a franchise, as was the decidedly Western feel to the show. I won't spoil the final scene, but it's pretty neat, and I'm eager to see where this goes.
