Everybody gets this wrong

Sorry if I am being "anal" ;-) I worked for "The Phone Company" (AT&T/Lucent) for 12 years but I knew this before also. When a caller calls a callee, the caller controls the call. If the callee hangs up first, and the caller does not, the call stays up for a short time. Not sure exactly how long. 5 seconds? 10 seconds? Anyway, every tv show / movie, including this one, where someone calls someone, and the callee hangs up, the caller gets dial tone instantly. That just doesn't happen. At least not in the seventies.

Good observation. You found a plot hole

reply

That’s not a plot hole, that’s just a movie error.

NOW I'M GONNA NOTICE THIS WHILE WATCHING THINGS.
