You know it's doomed when both critics & fans deem it to be mediocre.

A film can usually get by at the Box Office with a good word of mouth but this ain't getting any.

Also, a friend of mine who's seen it described it as "basically a netflix movie". You know, the ones you forget 5 minutes after watching 'em

Woulda probably ended up in the "Netflix top 10" with "the most watched minutes ever" or something like that

reply

Pretty much. It wasn't a bad movie by any means, but it's basically a wannabe Christopher Nolan film

LOL. Netflix really did downgrade itself so hard. Its used to be: "Netflix means prestigious serious project".

Now every time we see boring lifeless forgettable movie we say: "Looks like a Netflix movie".

How mighty has fallen. After spending so much money to make lifeless boring forgettable movies people finally started seeing whole streaming as one.

And yes - if it would come on Netflix then they would start releasing press releases how this movie it so mega popular and trillions of minutes was watched by trillions of people.

They've actually kinda gone in a circle. When they first started streaming, you'd find all these shitty straight to dvd movies & films that bomb at the box office on there.

Then they started to attract all these talented filmmakers and started making high quality films & shows.

And now they've become a "content machine". You'll get something that's really good every once in a while but they mostly churn out forgettable shite that you just leave on in the background.

I think they spend most of their money on securing big name stars cause the scripts are so mediocre. If they could let AI write their scripts, they would.
