My daughter and I love it, too - I finished it today when I got home from work. Now, just waiting (im)patiently for season 2....

Question for you? I'm on episode 3 now and wondering if this show every really departs from what it is now. Like...does anything else happen or is it just kind of a character study of these people dealing with grief and another couple dealing with guilt?
It seems like its missing something somehow.
Listening to the mother in law and wife dig at each other here and hoping there's some kind of payoff beyond...just this kind of stuff, you know?

Nice, thank you then, I'm going to.

Be aware that the show is basically its black quirky humor. There's more than slices of afterlife, but nothing special or surprising. I watched it a few years ago and I remember there was a plot, but to be honest, I don't even remember what happened. However, I remember the quirky funny scenes.

"A few years ago"! You have a time machine?

My bad. I thought it was 'Dead like me'.

Already finished it. I like where it's going.

Just finished season 1. While the leads are really good, and the first half is filled with good black humour too, the story went a bit downhill and by-the-numbers. Not a bad show, at all, though a tad half-baked, and predictable in its plot devices.

SPOILER

With you on that: great acting and humor.
I enjoyed it up until Episode 10, where things stopped making sense and got extreme. Though it's also a matter of taste: I was enjoying the humor, the banter, and the tensions between people, enjoying the "comedy" part of "dark comedy." When it got just plain dark, the fun was gone. And some of the later plot points were totally cliche.
very good first season :)

Dead to Me is entertaining and I do enjoy watching, but it's not American Psycho (2000) levels of humor.

This is supposed to be a dark comedy. Some of the segments do not really blend in well when mixing the two.
