I wouldn't say it was a total waste of time, but it was at best mediocre, the characters did incredibly dumb things, and the ending was lame!

I stuck with it, too, mainly to try to figure out how something SO EMPTY got the green light from HBO. It HAD to be nepotism or sex favors, or both. 2 unattractive people doing stupid and boring things. It was like being on MovieChat, present company excepted!
shareI liked it well enough until it turned into a crime show. What a weird (and not in a good way) U-turn. I was disappointed, and I didn't have any expectations to begin with.
As for how it got greenlit: Phoebe Waller-Bridge most likely. She's huge right now. They wanted a piece of that Killing Eve/Fleabag pie.
Thank you, Mina; and itās so good to see you again. I am not up on show biz connections, but I know that Fleabag is much admired, though Iāve not seen it. I thought and felt that this was dodgy and self absorbed, until it imploded at the end. Unfortunately, especially after your intel, I guess there will be a second self-satisfied season of middle-aged housefrau fantasy. I tend to champion the ālittleā premium cable series, like Sweetbitter. Itās in my nature; but this is a NO to me. Itās too unjustifiably smug. I hope youāre healthy and safe.

I don't know if I'll be returning for a second season of this. I didn't much like the direction it took either. Fleabag was interesting though, especially the second series.

I'm glad you're safe and healthy! It will pass, but everyone needs to make an effort to keep others safe.
I am what they call an "essential employee" so quarantine passed me by. Fortunately the outbreak has been largely contained to clusters, for the most part, so it never got as bad as it did in other countries. Still scary though.
I haven't been gone for 3 years, a year maybe haha. I needed a break from the place. I'm back, for now, though I think I'll stick to the movie/show boards this time around.

Seems like everybody hated the ending, That's probably one of the reasons why the show just got cancelled.

I kept wondering throughout if it was actually going anywhere, but really should have never started watching in the first place, there was zero payoff.
