Was the swearing really necessary?

Look I swear like a trooper, but I there were a couple of occasions when I was uncomfortable with some of the language my six year old daughter was exposed to, considering this was meant to be a children’s film.

Fuck no!

Fuckedy, fuck, fuck fuck!

reply

I didn't even notice.

My daughter will not mention all the thousands of words spoken in a film until the one occasion when someone says a word I’d rather not have her hear and straight away she’ll ask, “Daddy, what does **** mean?” Lol.

reply

I actually didn't notice, either, but I do know what you're saying. I'm not sure I can agree with you that this is supposed to be a "children's movie." It's rated PG-13. I'm not saying your 6 year old shouldn't watch it, but the rating should at least let you know that foul language is a possibility.

reply

That's fair enough. Blimey, when did I become so boring?

reply

Not boring, just a parent :-)

reply

I didn't mean to trivialize your concern. I understand where you're coming from. For the record though, when she was younger my daughter used to do the exact same thing to me.

reply

My wife finds it hilarious.

reply

They swear in order for the rating to be high enough to attract older kids. They believe a G or even a PG will label it a kiddie film for 5-year olds.

reply

This makes sense.
