Serious lack of realism... (spoilers)

A lowly mule getting invited to the kingpin's house in Mexico and treated like a VIP?
A 90 year old having threesomes?
A broke old man throwing tens of thousands of dollars around and nobody questions it?
The kingpin gets killed and the entire organization just shrugs and follows the new boss?
Cops who don't notice when someone rubs cream all over their police dog?

I feel like I could add about 30 more points to that list, but you get the point. While Eastwood is great as always, this one was a bit of a mess and was completely unbelievable. Which is too bad because the core of the film around the drug runs through the country were really enjoyable to watch.

You make some good points and I mostly agree but I still thought it was a good movie.

"Cops who don't notice when someone rubs cream all over their police dog?" This one made me laugh.

He didn’t see Eastwood smear cream over the dog’s nose. He just saw him petting it.

He wasn’t a lowly mule when he got invited to the kingpin’s place. He had made about 7 or 8 runs, setting a new record along the way etc.

If the cop was as concerned about anyone touching his dog like it's presented, he would have noticed the Ben Gay all over nose, and also the dog's sudden constant sneezing.

Most unbelievable to me was his estranged daughter's hugs and love you before he's put in prison.

Agree with your points. How about suddenly there’s a guy in the gang who doesn’t trust him?

reply

yeah ... pointless silly movie.
