The last scene - gonna pretend...

Ever wish there was a paricular last shot in a movie, and when it wasn't there, you kinda had to pretend that it was?

So two shots - as the end-music plays...

One is of his daughter coming into the prison to see him, with some food... like a covered dish - as if it was from a thanksgiving meal...

The other was of Bradley Cooper, sitting across the glass, holding a baby, just chatting with him...

So I'm pretending. B/c it would not have been outlandish, given the flow of the movie...

Would have been great with the fake baby from American Sniper.

You're right, the Thanksgiving dish is totally believable, given the ridiculous "we'll visit whenever we can!" from the estranged daughter.

He'd reconciled with his family by this point, she (his daughter) wasn't estranged anymore.

Yeah, it would have been nice to see Earl with his family in the prison, but I doubt Cooper's character would visit. I would, however, have liked an epilogue moment where Cooper's character was spending time with his family. If Earl wasted a lot of his life ignoring his family, then it would be great to see more of a visual of that life lesson being learned by the DEA special agent.
