The imdb reviews are great, comparing it with Gran Torino. Problem with imdb is that many companies hire fake reviewers, but I can't imagine Clint hiring fake reviewers there. I think they're real.

Mainstream critics, on the contrary, are far less trustworthy. Nowadays it's all about politics, and Eastwood is not politically correct enough for them.

Exactly. I read a review that raved about the movie and said it would be a great swan song, if it turns out to be that. But Eastwood is never going to be forgiven by the Hollywood crowd for his dialogue (soliloquy) with the empty chair.

I'm a very liberal guy and I don't give a sht if Clint is on the opposite end of the spectrum. He's a legend. Maybe only the Hollywood liberals don't like him for that chair speech.

Bravo!

I saw it. It was good. Eastwood as director movies are 50/50 with me. Some I hate, some I love. He has a tendency to stray from his plot to address pet ideas or jam a scene he obviously thinks is cool into a movie regardless if it fits smoothly or not. This one is no exception. But still, it is enjoyable. 7/10
