In school, this was glorious to watch. When she got revenge against those people for what they did, it must of felt great. I hope bullies watch this and realize that if push people far enough they will snap. When Ma ran Mercedes down and then killled the guy by slitting his wrists it was awesome.

shareThere was nothing "awesome" about what Ma did to those people-----she could have gotten revenge on them without going to the extremes she did. The way Ben pretended to like her, and set her up to be publicly humiliated in high school was truly disgusting. She could have gotten back at him in particular for the **** he pulled on her in a different way, though. She came off like a women who had never really recovered from what happened, and was trying to relive her high school days the way she wished she'd actually lived them. Octavia Spencer was really good and scary in this---even though the film itself wasn't all that great, I'd love to see her play more evil villains in an even better film, lol.
share It could probably prevent that reaction if the Bully admitted what he did and apologized. In front of the entire school. It wouldn't make her forget but it could help. It would at least let her gain her dignity back even though it wasn't her fault. In reality he should be the one humiliated for being a disgusting human being.
We will never know for sure though because it is extremely rare for bullies to ever apologize. They usually carry it into their adult lives and then raise mini bullies (It's probably due to a personality disorder).
Luckily it's a movie and not real life. But it's always nice to see a bully get theirs.

shareNah - it's a shitty revenge on innocents. She should have gotten revenge on peeps that did her wrong, not on their children.
It's like me going to germany or japan and killing everyone because their ancestors did a crapload of bad things during ww2.
In other words, it was extreme and overdone by a mountain.
What is true, however, is that there are plenty of peeps out there with major mental issues, and if you cross them - you might not like the outcome when they go berserk and go on a shooting rampage killing you and everyone else in school, which is such a common theme in the US.
In other words, treat others the way you want to be treated (unless.... they fuck you over, in which case it's game on) - that should always apply in all situations.
Otherwise - I must admit, kids.... are vile creatures. I've seen plenty of bullying in school - and it very seldom happens with grownups in such a manner.
Then again, if you take the time to ponder about the grown up world - you'll come to realize that sexism, racism and discrimination are in essence bullying of the same sort on global scale. Furthermor... in the grownup world, we go to war and slaughter people by millions for no reason.... so it's obvious that the grown up world is pretty fucked up just as well. Really - human beings are not evolving particularly well, when you think about it.
I was also ‘made fun of’ in school. (That’s what they called it back then.) It never leaves your psyche. I don’t approve of what Sue Ann did but I understand the pain she must’ve gone through reliving that particular moment year after year.
