Excellent & Inventive Sci-Fi

One of the best sci-fi films of the 2010s. The atmosphere, gear, and practical F/X all harken back to classics like Alien or The Thing. And the music by Daniel L.K. Caldwell was absolutely beautiful. Best score I've heard in a long time.

Sophie Thatcher as Cee has a toughness that resembles Emma Watson/Hermione and Pedro Pascal as Ezra has a formal manner of speech that gives the film a Western feel.

A sleeper gem that deserves a wider audience. Kudos to Christopher Caldwell and Zeke Earl for creating such a memorable film. They managed to make Washington's Olympic Peninsula feel like an entirely different world.

Food in Films: Always curious about what real foods production departments on space films use when a character chomps on something from a foil packet. In this case, looked like a power bar.

Yes, totally - I got Western, with the retro 70s feel mixed with a little MadMax type thing going on.

A good deal different to anything else I’ve seen in the same vein.

You got it. It's rare that a film is able to mix genres so well, but they made it all work. Glad Netflix put this in the "Hidden Gems of the 2010s" category since I'd never heard about it.
