Revenge of the suburban dad - one star
This movie didn't even feel real, it just felt like I was watching a middle aged, suburban white dad's fantasy of being John Wick.
And I didn't buy the lead as an action star.

hehe!
I love Bob Odenkirk, he is such a strange choice for this role. I am going to see it just to witness the spectacle of what you described.
I think that's part of the fun is seeing someone like Bob Odenkirk become an action star as that you don't really expect it. It's a good movie.
shareYeah, major disappointment.
shareI think when he was on the bus and said "please board the bus" I got wind that this was a suburban dad fantasy movie.
I can picture a suburban dad who catches the bus wishing he could beat up the black passengers who cause trouble. Hollywood wouldn't like that so the bad guys are Russians...again.
The reality is Keanu is a piss poor action hero. If you stood both of these side by side Hutch looks more believable. But that isn't even the point. It a movie you watch for the action not the believability of the people in it. At least this one didn't have the main guy falling off a 15 floor roof and living to tell about it like Wick.
shareI hear you but, keep in mind that in real life spies, agents and assassins look more like Odenkirk than Daniel Craig, Schwarzenegger or Keanu Reeves in a tailored suit. Nevertheless this was a fantasy (as most action movies are) don't try it in real life.
shareAnd unless those spies gym each day, they're not going to be able to put into action those skills at 50 years of age.
