Question on 2 connected scenes

Possible spoiler ... when Charlie is outside at school she sees a woman beyond the fence that motions to her. Then Peter sees a woman later at the same spot who speaks to him and then tells him to “get out”. Can someone tell me what that was all about?

I wondered that too. I think the first time it was a member of the cult checking up on their prodigy. A sort of Paimon groupie - hanging around school to try and catch a glimpse.

The second time it was Joan wasn’t it? I don’t know why she was shouting at him but by that time the cult were trying to use Peter as the new host. Maybe “get out” meant literally that. “Get out of that body so that Paimon can occupy it.” Doesn’t make much sense though when they have all kinds of rituals and magic to bring that about. What good would shouting at him do?

Yes, I thought that about the first incident. But when it happened to Peter it was a different woman I think but I couldn’t tell who it was. I thought it was a warning to get out of their house, that he was in danger. It didn’t make sense unless, like you said, it was to make way for Paimon.

Just watched the film again. Pretty sure it was Joan the 2nd time. So, after she calls to Peter the first thing she said was “I expell you. Then some words from that unknown language, then came the “Get out”. I now think it was part of an invocation. After watching it a 2nd time there were a couple of other subtle things I saw that answered other questions I had. Definitely a movie to be viewed at least twice.
