Collette and Wolffe

They deserve Oscar nominations along with the movie. I was deeply entranced the full two hours. Better than Get Out.

reply

Not sure on Oscars, both were great though especially Alex.

reply

Those two performances were better than anything else that year. Just because it was a horror movie, doesn't mean that they shouldn't be considered for any awards.

reply

Really? "Not sure" about Collette deserving an Oscar for her performance in Hereditary?
Serious question: What more does it take!?

She was flawless and I'm not even a "fan" or anything.

reply

Especially when she cleaned up at the critics circle and film festival awards. I was surprised that the Oscars ignored her completely.

reply

Well, the Oscars are bonkers and absurdly arbitrary for years anyways and, you probably heard, just recently sealed their own fate it seems with their new absurd requirements for movies to be even considered for best picture.
They implemented the wet dream of SJW checkmarks basically.
Now your movie must check 2 of 4 requirements (skin color, LGBTQ, female, ...) to be even considered.

Politics, especially crazy identity-politics, ruin everything.

reply

Yep

It’s reached the point where winning an Oscar is a now a black mark of shame on your film, proof that you sold out on quality to meet diversity requirements.

An Oscar is now a warning to stay the hell away from a film.

reply

She's white and doesn't appear to be vocally woke.

I thought this post was going to be about her:

reply

They should have been nominated specially Collette.

reply

She would have been if she were black.
