Good movie but I would ended with...

I would ended with the "happy flashes", the images when they are together, happy, with the granfather, and the younger version of Nathan.
The public will be like: were those the happy memories before they died? Maybe yes, maybe not

US audiences don't like uncertainties. They mostly want to be spoon fed with the story until the end.

What exactly are you saying there?

LOL... I see what you're doing.

I said the same thing. that would have been a more powerful ending.

I don’t think this film was good enough to have an open-ended ending. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it but as a thrill-ride action flick. There was nothing deep or profound about the characters though. They were stock tropes - brave Dad, beautiful Mom, kid with vulnerable illness that set up the obligatory pharmacy scene. How many damn films have used that pharmacy scene?

"No, zombies are that way, comet impact people are in aisles 7 to 24"

Maybe I've seen too many films with sad ambiguous endings but I'm glad they didn't end on the flashbacks. The ending was painful enough when the kid was upset his life wasn't flashing before his eyes because he wanted to remember the good times.
