Will it hit $200m?

I honestly thought this would be a bigger movie. Maybe they should have released it in June. Its more of fun summer movie to me.

reply

Barely, pretty sad numbers though.

Yes....

Unfortunately though it Will Not come close to the 300 Million Break Even Point.

Stunningly WB has sunk to New Depths for DC films, You would have thought Shazam's Box office was about the Lowest WB could sink with DC films...

But leave it to WB to Hits Astonishingly NEW Lows with DC films

WB is now Batting 50/50 for the last 6 DC films, resulting In Killing 2 Major UBER franchises in JL and Harley Quinn

I honestly thought this would be a bigger movie.

your not the ONLY

Queen had Massive Expectations for BOP, so much so he started a "WB/DC is going to dominate" thread where he predicted BOP was going to do "Supernova" Box office....

Of course, though Queen's history with DC films is horrifically awful, I still laugh when Queen predicted Justice League was going to be "RED HOT" coming off Wonder Woman, where he went on to predict JL would open over 133M +....Then changed to 115 M+...Then changed to 100 M+....Then disappeared when JL came just over 90 M

I also remember Queen's absolute certainty JL would destroy Thor 3(which opened within 2 weeks of JL), where Queen went on to predict JL would Open higher than Thor 3 and JL would Make Over 1 Billion

Then theres Queen 100% fail on Shazam where He failed on absolutely every single thing he predicted.....1st he guaranteed again Shazam was coming in "RED HOT , actually HOTTER than Aquaman", where he guaranteed a 75 to 100 M OW for Shazam....next Queen Guaranteed a 250 Million + domestic total for Shazam, and Lastly Queen Guaranteed Shazam would top both Ant-Man 1 and 2 World Wide and make at least 625 M+ World Wide...in the end Shazam couldnt open to 55 M, couldnt even hit 150 M domestically and could make it to 370 M WW....

and then theres Queen worst DC fail....his "This aint No Wonder Woman" thread...where Queen astonishingly Made a troll thread to guarantee Captain Marvel Wouldnt match any of WW's box office achievements, and in the end literally every single thing Queen predicted in his thread turned out wrong, Including CM killing WW in every possible way, ending with Queen changing trolling tactics and guaranteeing "CM would never top WW domestically" over 30 times before abandoning the board in shame when CM in fact Beat WW domestically

so yes, BOP was expected to be a bigger movie, and I cant imagine Its Pathetic result of a sub 35 M+ Opening, Sub 100 M domestic run and Sub 250 M total was the "supernova" box office that was expected by "some"

Add BOP to a long list of awful DC films predictions by Queen.....one might even call such a spectacular list of fails a "Supernova" List of fails

"It will not come close to the 300 Million Break Even Point".

**************************

Ummm...bill? The budget is 85 million so the "break-even point" would be around 170 million ww.

Remember? According to YOU, marketing costs don't count against a film's profitability as that's "covered by home media".

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

reply

I think he was referring to marvel as they make huge numbers on media, this won’t and is a massive flop and another massive failed prediction by yourself.

reply

No...billbrown said marketing costs don't count against ANY movie's profitability as its all paid for by home media sales.

It's the dumbest, most ignorant thing I've seen written on Moviechat and that's saying something.

reply

That's like robbing Peter to pay Paul or paying your left hand with what's in your right hand. It's still a cost and expense to the studio and until that expense is recovered a film cannot begin to be "profitable".

Billbrown says that once a film has grossed double its production budget that it's broken even and marketing costs don't count against its profitability.

Yes...he's THAT stupid.

reply

bill?

You said that marketing costs don't count against profitability did you not?

Be careful, bill, as you are DROWNING in lies at this point.

Are you going to make me wait for a response for months just like your fake story about "confirmed reports" and "special deal" about the Lion King and their 67% of domestic ticket sales and 55% international that is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND regardless of how long you scour the internet?

Multiple "confirmed reports" is what you said and yet... not ONE can be found.

reply

Hey bill...where you been the last 12 days? Did you pack your bags for another "road trip" once your easily-proven LIE about dmac was exposed? Man these trips(disappearances) always come at a convenient time

Now...you can keep PRETENDING that you blocked him but he's still waiting. Waiting not only for the 2 week-long(LOL) convention name but also for ANY examples that he would "pop up and agree with me WHENEVER I said something to you."(Your exact words)

This disappearance was near-record length for you. I figured it must be another convention. This time, try to get the length of it right out of the gate. The last one you said was 5 1/2 days(Sunday thru Friday) but then changed the length to 2 weeks 5 months later. LOLOLOLOLOLOL You need to keep your lies...errr..."stories" straight if they are going to be more believable, bill.

I think only Japan is left in 3 weeks for this movie. Several countries saw this movie before it hit American theaters.this movie gross was below the estimate, its hard for movies to bounce back.

reply

February just seems like an odd time to release this movie. May, June or July would have been better I think.

reply

I don't expect it to ever hit 200 million from theatrical releases alone. It has only gotten to 179 million now and its pretty much whimpering out of the theaters at this point. US has had a 25% drop in the theaters even showing it and when they do show it the daily gross has been less than 200 a theater during the week and just will likely be around 300 for this weekend.

While it might have gotten some last big push from Japan it may be hampered by the coronavirus fears that could cause people to avoid theaters. If it makes 200 million it will be a miracle.

The release date plus its ties to Suicide Squad isn't doing it any favors to be honest.

5 million to go, after a month , yikes

pretty sad me thinks...

They probably expected less competition and that it'd pull a Deadpool. Lord knows they didn't expect to get beat by a damned hedgehog.
