If u live in Cali SJ why would u be a Fins fan?

There was text discussion in the movie about attending Fins gameS in a manner that they were local, I believe even one about multiple games one week. I am figuring that the film producers used "Fins" rather than Sharks to avoid trademark issues but still give it a strong San Jose feel as apparently the TV media call signs they used were real San Jose stations.
