You're a horrible racist but in this case you're right. The reason is commercial.

I really dislike blind casting, but unfortunately this is the way of the future. Us that don't like it will be less and less as we are dying, newer generations will grow up to it so it'll be business as usual for them.

Wokeism is pure racism. Salome Otterbourne would have been the third murder victim. But cause you cant kill a black woman in a woke movie (even when the story describes it that way) you have to kill a young white men. And that way you also reach one of the main goals of wokeism: race separation. Cause without this third murder attempt there would have been a couple of mixed color skins at the end of the movie. And god forbid such a travesty when it comes to woke fanatics.

If this adaptation is set to present day or thereabouts, then it isn't a problem. However, if set in the '30s, then replacing wealthy white tourists with black ones is... baffling. This would essentially be a white-washing of history, pretending racism of the period didn't exist.

Edit: having now just watched it, there was an adequate reason given for their presence. However, they were not '30s black women, but 21st century. No way would two black people in a white environment be so up-front and judgemental towards whites to their faces back then. They would be obsequious, not prideful.
