This definitely should get an Oscar. At the very least a nomination.

Maybe so, now that the Oscars have so many different grievance groups to try to keep appeased with affirmative action picks.

I'd say it's not good enough to win an award (other than Laura Dern's performance), but the Oscars have shown a willingness to totally ignore my opinions. (Bastards!)

Opposite here. I can't believe the Academy gave Dern, but not Alan Alda a nod, especially considering Dern played basically the same character earlier this year in Big Little Lies.

I probably missed that season of Big Little Lies. I do like Alan Alda, and I enjoyed him in this, but they didn't give him a big enough role, in my opinion. (Although the sudden switch to Ray Liotta was great for the story, so I don't begrudge it one bit.)
