Man, I loved it - what a ride

I dunno... maybe it was my mood or I just need to escape but I enjoyed the heck out of this thing.

It's got a great mix of comedy and action with a splash of sci-fi and drama. I really laughed a lot during the first half.

The cast worked. I only know Grillo from the Marvel movies but he does great work here. He'd be a huge action star back in the 1980s. The hitmen are fun and what the hell, let's toss Will Sasso in there as the heavy evil sidekick, Michelle Yeoh in a cameo, and why not Ken Jeong as a bartender. Gibson does a lot with the little he has and has a serious presence.

The soundtrack is epic- Rush, Stones, Boston... mixed in well in the action scenes.

It reminds me a lot of the type of movie Arnold would have done back in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

Grillo is good in "Wheelman" on Netflix and "The Purge: Anarchy".

Agreed! I really like Frank Grillo, and I loved this movie!

wish they showed what happened after he entered the machine at the end.

reply

Yes! this was my only gripe with the movie. They made it look like everything worked out, but.. yeah, nah, maybe...

lol, otherwise a good romp into an afternoon with a few ambers.. ;)

sounds good

reply

Hope it does you as it did me, but I do like dark comedy.. :)

I was literally stunned at how much I enjoyed the movie.

I'm a sucker for action movies, I watch "B type" action movies all the time...I hoping just hoping for some decent action.

But Literally within 5 minutes into the movie I was already surprised and enjoying it more than I thought I would

overall I loved it and really hope it gets a sequel.

The only thing That disappointed me was several of the action sequences just looked Amateurish(The Sword Fight was just Brutally awful, Literally almost comically bad), and that really surprised and disappointed me considering the director has proven he can in fact do really good action sequences.

I like everything but the ending of the movie

reply

I really liked it also. In fact, I might watch it again, just for fun.

It was fun for sure, and it's a film that kind of snuck up on me. I remember hearing something about it a while back and then totally forgot about it and then suddenly-boom!--it was coming out in a week or something.

Much of the film is extraordinarily well-made. The tone is perfect for a story like this and the production design is excellent. I enjoyed the comedy and thought much of it was quite effective and the actions were, if not excellent, certainly entertaining.

Frank Grillo does a great job and now I want to watch more of his films. I love Mel and will watch anything he's in. I wish he had more screen time, but he does well with what he's given.

My only complaint is that the ending was very weak. It's like the writers just got bored and reached the end of the script and said fuck it.

Overall though, it's a really solid action movie.

Agreed. I'm a huge fan of Mel and he was the main reason I ended up watching this, it turned out to be a really fun and entertaining movie.

It was a really fun movie. Frank Grillo was good and it's always good to see Mel, even if it was a small role.
