Is this an agenda show

I was really looking forward to checking this out until i read the reviews on IMDB.Their mostly good but there's a lot of negative reviews describing it as another SJW propaganda show.If this is just another SJW nonsense show about evil oppressive white privilege then no thanks.Has anyone seen it yet?.

reply

I was put off by those reviews but I am not seeing it so far.
Someone mentioned that there is a transgender who gets bullied....But actually it is just a girl who looks slightly boyish because of her haircut.
The kids mention things about white privilege in the first episode but it doesn't seem to be being pushed in the plotline of the show. Unfortunately, that is just something a lot of young teens believe now.
So, having them speak that way is realistic.

If you finish it let me know what you thought.I just don't want to watch another show like Super girl where SJW issues become an overbearing preachy subplot that infects every aspect of the show.

reply

I will do. It's quite enjoyable so far in my opinion. Although, you may not like for other reasons than the poltical aspect.

I also thought it would be a full SJW extravaganza after reading some comments put its not like that, finished it Yesterday and it was a fun show sure it has its 'inclusive' themes with the gay black cousin, the tomboy best friend and feminist undertones but its not a huge issue imo.

The 90s show was better. Corny, but at least you could have kids watch it, and there was no Satan worship.

I just started watching it last night and am up to episode 8. While it does have some "girl power!" and "stick it to the man" types of themes they aren't really the main focus of the show. It's not so heavy handed that it's off putting (for me anyway). And, the truth is, a lot of teens go through these phases. Overall I'm enjoying the show. I do wish there were more scenes where Sabrina uses magic, but I assume that will come in time.

SJW point of view is clearly present, and while parts get a little over the top, It didn't really bug me too much through the show. I was a little concerned after the first 2 episodes but it balanced out towards the end. If you really can't stand ANY push of the social justice agenda you might hate it, but all and all I have come to expect a handful of it from anything out of Hollywood. After episode 2 it was a lot less in your face.

The black girl trying to hang Sabrina in the first season of the show I believe was a political statement.
