FFS gimme a break!

We have the usual Liberal Hollywood PC crap which seems to be the norm from all the film studios out there nowadays.

20 minutes in, two men cuddling up together and spooning in the train carriage, and that was it for me, I was done.

they should film multiple versions. one for dudes who want to see two sexy chicks making out. one for those who want to see two dudes. one for wholesome people who would like to see a man and woman couple etc..

reply

that's the thing ALMOST nobody wants to see it. homosexuality is around 3%. THREE PERCENT. Don't try to make it 50%, never gonna happen, so all this shoe horned in to please everyone bull crap is misplaced.

What do you supposed the gay viewership if THIS FILM really is? You think there's lots of gay guys rooting for the two side characters? remember: 3% (double and make it 6% if you want, it is still not significant.

This film check marked ALL the diversity boxes: strait, white, gay, black, male, female, asian, sorry I don't know what that other guy is.... lebanese? anyway, the plot is dull, but they were all about pleasing EVERYONE, even loud minorities.

thanks, world, for dumbing down film entertainment to this level.

and no, *I* am not homophobic, like that other guy defined, not at all. but the gay couple here is just obviously politics in action.

reply

i hear ya. i am not really racist but i play a vr game that portrays two black people on their front title card screen hanging out.. i really doubt many black people play the game at all, maybe i'm ignorant and they do, but i doubt it.

reply

I think less than 2 million people own VR headsets who play on Steam, out of more than 125 million registered accounts.

So less than 1.7% of Steam users play on VR (stats could have changed in recent times, but I tend to doubt it). You're not ignorant for noting most blacks don't play on VR, because most blacks don't play on PC, and the few who do don't make up much of the 1.7% who play VR.

So yeah, anyone trying to push "poor black people play on VR" is just gunning for woke points.

reply

Not long from now and you will be detained for opinions like this, mark my words.
Now fall back in line citizen!

reply

While I sadly agree, why would a tiny percentage make decisions - or consequences for the rest? Isn't that kinda backwards?

reply

I don't think that percentage is that tiny anymore and the influence is getting stronger - just look at the current BLM bullshit going on in the US and elsewhere. BLM leaders openly talk about wanting a political revolution (towards marxism!) and apparently, that flies. People are too stupid, they hear "against racism!" and stop to think critically.
Peer pressure and the usual fear-tactics of the left do the rest.

Politics world wide cater more and more to these people and their absurd ideology and we all will pay the price soon enough.

reply

def agree about paying the price.

if only there was a virus or something that wiped out all the stupid people..... :D

reply

People are just tired of the agenda being pushed down our throats. It actually creates more animosity than it prevents. I want to watch a movie to be entertained or moved, not to be subject to a political agenda. Had I known ahead of time, I would've skipped it. Has nothing to do with being "homophobic", pretty sure I'm not afraid of gays. I just don't want to watch them make out.

reply

So any inclusion of gays is an agenda? So films should just never include them?

reply

No, they should stay covering the 3% of their population. Oh wait, they already have an entire Gerne of films for them selves: "Gay films"

I guess straight people have their genre of straight films too: PORN. I guess this means they should force a PORN scene in every movie too? Have some couple f$@#king for no reason related to the plot. That will equal things up. hahahahahahah

Yes, we're tired of forced agenda. THREE PERCENT! Stay in your lane, enjoy your life, and shut the F up about it. I don't walk around TELLING everyone I am a heterosexual and thus like sex with women. Why do gays have to do it?

reply

So you answered yes to my question, basically. Gays get a quota of 3% so that their presence doesn't bother you.

"I guess straight people have their genre of straight films too: PORN."

And pretty much any movie without gay characters, which is a lot.

"I don't walk around TELLING everyone I am a heterosexual and thus like sex with women. Why do gays have to do it?"

I must have missed that scene in the movie. Some serious homophobia man.

reply

please reread about what homophobia REALLY is.

gayness is NOT 50% of society, so it doesnt need to be in 80% of films.

3% verses 97% = things will NEVER be equal. Welcome to Earth, its your choice to accept this reality.

reply

Yup, this woke overrepresentation of LGBT in Hollywood is way too much, literally shoving their agenda down our throats. Apparently, normal people should just "accept sexual deviants and freaks" as the new norm.

reply

"accept sexual deviants and freaks"

If gay people are "freaks" to you that is homophobia lol. Just because you're not burning them at the stake doesn't mean you can be free of that label.

reply

Homophobia shmobophobia...
Advertising sexual deviancy as the norm that has to be accepted by general populus is obvious brainwashing. What's next? Cannibalism?
Would that also make me Canniphobic? Roflmao!

reply

So homophobia (which doesn't hurt you) is comparable to cannibalism? Got it.

reply

You're a social retard. The end.

reply

Very articulate response.

Got a link for that stat about gay people being in 80% of films? Might seem like 80% since it triggers you so much so you focus on each instance and think the world is ending. Got a link for the stat?
Or the 3%? Can't find a source for either.

reply

Actually less than 3%... gays/lesbians specifically account for only 1.6%, according to the CDC (via Time Magazine):
https://archive.is/AtuDc

And actually, the alphabet group make up 10% of on-screen characters:
https://www.glaad.org/whereweareontv19

Interestingly enough, POCkers make up 47% of all on-screen characters, which is crazy given that blacks only make up 13% of the population in America.

So gays are over-represented by six times their demographic figures, and blacks are over-represented by nearly four times their demographic figures.

It's crazy that gays are actually over-represented in media by 1.5 times the amount of blacks, despite blacks being a demographic that's eight times larger than gays.

reply

"Interestingly enough, POCkers make up 47% of all on-screen characters, which is crazy given that blacks only make up 13% of the population in America."

POC is not just black people right? Do you not realize that?

Also, people come out later in life all the time e.g. Jay-Z's momj. Doubt that stat accounts for that.

reply

Notice how none of them actually answer the question. 😏

And I was also wondering where the 3% figure came from - I thought it was 10%, plus the fact that we are all somewhere in the sexual continuum, rather than 100% straight or 100% gay.

reply

Lol yeah. They probably heard 3% from Alex Jones or something.

Yeah when I Google it I get numerous articles referencing 10%.

Also, if media representation being proportionate is so important to them they should also be advocating for more black, Asian, hispanic etc. leads in films since white people are still over-represented (compared to % of US population) in American films and TV.

reply

Hey, I am Russian-American, and I don't think I've ever seen a Russian character in movies or on TV shows who was just a regular person, and not mafia or a spy. And I mean, why on earth is John Wick Russian, of all things?? 😂

If anyone should complain about lack of representation, it's us. 😄

My sentiments exactly CraigC, spot on.

That is the real world. Boney aging blonde saving the world while men huddle up and spoon throon and foon.

reply

That says a lot more about you, though, than about the movie.

reply

I feel upset and underrepresented because there were not any BBQ eaters in the movie.

reply

At least they weren't flouncing, prancing, lisping, makeup-wearing, flaming fagolas, a' la Johnny Weir.
