Yipeee! Another SUPER POWERS thing

Seriously. Crazy pointless over the top super powers are replacing ZOMBIE movies for the most over done, too many, stop making them, we're done with them already, PLEASE, movies.

Surely, everyone is getting tired of watching someone get punched in the sternum with enough force to blast their body through two sets of walls, instead of snapping thier bones, and crushing their heart and lungs - which is probably what should happen. Anyone? ANYONE?

after 3 or 4 times, that gets old. 3700, and it is just boring.

"Oooo, i did _________ and my random super power is _________ " Cool! No, yawn, click off.

reply

Agreed - and the script really was the stereotypical crapfest that all of the marvel/dc fans have come to love.

reply

Lol. Thought the same exact thing when I saw the trailer. 🙄

reply

No. Actually the people who are tired of watching them (.... stay with me now. this is complicated) don't watch them. Have you ever considered doing the same?

reply

Yes, I absolutely will NOT be watching this. But I watch to see what things are coming out, and sometimes you sit through a trailer of something that looks like a DRAMA that might go somewhere than BAM! oh look: SUPER POWERS Yadda-fricka-da!!

The balance is weighing heavy on the side of SUPER movies, verses movies with something more to them.

Tell me, since you probably enjoy super powers, what is the draw? To me its very fake and always the same same.
Doesn't it ever get old to you?
When a normal person gets punched through 3 brick walls... doesn't that seem way to over the top? The power in a punch like that should have slip a person wide open at impact.

You are right. I won't watch this. Just seems weird they keep regurgitating up the exact same premises and people drink it up. OH look! He's a GROUP of people that have to team up with their powers. Wow THAT'S so new and refreshing.

reply

I like all different kinds of movies. What is the draw? I dunno, escapism? fantasy? a compelling story? living vicariously as a super hero? justice/vengeance? What's the draw to any genera or any art form?

good point

Actually, I would have enjoyed yet another movie about superpowers if it was well done.

This one wasn't.

reply

because....... more work put into the super power effects than the story. That is MOST of this problem to me. I WOULD watch power movies IF they worked hard on the story and made it actually good supporting the powers.

With COMIC BOOKS as the high bar for this type of stuss, all you get in a film is boxes of explosions and special effects with a crap story shoved in to DRAAAAAG it out to an action packed ending, until you discover you can make the go into a new direction --- for the next issue for people to purcha$e. --- instead of making a compelling, isolated, well thought out story with a solid ending, wrapping things up.

Sorry to keep rambling on, but people SUPPORTING this stuff is WHY we keep getting this kind of garbage. (I say garbage because most of the posts on this film or series or whatever it is, say its pretty weak. Weak means bad.)

If you're getting sick of super powers then you're gonna love "The Boys".

My God what a treat!

reply

You can tell the budget of the movie went to the cast because it was horrible graphics
