Wonderful adaptation of Diderot story. I really enjoyed it and I was lucky enough to catch the 1945 version of this story by Robert Bresson, Les Dames du Bois de Boulanger, this past summer. Cecile de France was terrific in this one. Alice Issaz is perfect as the bait/ingenue/prostitute.
