What did you think?

I really like time loop scenarios. I can't get enough of them. This one was done well and had a different take on it.

I loved it!

What did you all think of it?

reply

I loved it, too!

reply

I mean... it was interesting to watch, but I don't like the fact that nothing was ever explained. Like why were the people and objects suddenly disappearing in each iteration?

And why were Nadia and Alan the two people affected to begin with?

reply

I think reality was starting to fall apart. Their time loop was essentially a bug I think.

If I recall, they were effected because they had a chance to stop each others deaths but didn't, and I believe they both died at the same time.

What I didn't really understand was the significance of the homeless guy. I think I missed something there.

reply

Yeah, the homeless guy bugged me as well.
Just like the fact that he seemed to be a crazy but benevolent character for almost the entire series, and then was suddenly an a**hole in the end.

reply

I also don't see how that works as an explanation (that they didn't prevent each other's deaths) - she had no way of knowing that he would die when she saw him, and he was much too drunk to even be aware of anyone around him in that moment altogether.

I.e., it wasn't some moral failing on their part.

reply

I'm just going by what they said to each other on that one. He said he remembered seeing her or something like that. I don't remember the details exactly, just that they had decided that it all came down to that moment in the store. That's why they kept going back there, to try to fix it.

reply

I loved it.

I thought it was an interesting look at how we connect to each other.

reply

I agree!

I'm curious where they could go from here. Maybe an entirely different setting/different characters. I thought it would just be a one season deal, but I think I read somewhere that it is supposed to have more seasons.

reply

I feel that more seasons would be a mistake.

reply

I have to agree.

I could see more if it was different characters, but otherwise no.

reply

I read that they had a 3 season deal with Netflix. I think in that article that they said that Nadia would be in all three seasons, but they didn't say what in which capacity, other than to say that it wouldn't be conventional.

I don't know what I think. I didn't expect what we got in season one, so I really can't say that new seasons would be bad. I would like to have faith that they (meaning Pohler, Headland, and Lyonne. Not Netflix) wouldn't put out something that was crap. Who knows. I would like to see more from them, even if it's a different series.

reply

Ahh okay! If they went into it with a plan, I trust that it could be good.

I'd be interested to see more of what they create as well!

reply

Loved it. Inventive, philosophical, cerebral, full of great imagery, and the characters are so well-written that I could watch them all day. It managed to blend funny and dramatic and that's hard to do.

This series is going to stay with me for ages. I'll rewatch it for sure.

I hope they don't bugger up season two. It seemed so well-wrapped-up that it's hard to picture them equaling it, let alone topping themselves.

reply

I loved it also.
I have tried to stay away from reading explanations because I feel like it will ruin it for me
To me it felt like he helped her in one reality and she helps him in the other
