The Ending (spoilers)

Did the two timelines merge in the end? Or do Nadia and Alan have to live with each others Nadia and Alan from before the timelops?

Either way. Really loved it. Great build up. Very satisfying.

Season 2? Rather unlikely. Or?

reply

They merged. They showed both couples in the split timeline, then collapsed it to a single timeline. In the remaining timeline, Alan and Nadia were wearing the clothes they were in when they each had full knowledge of what was going on (Alan:scarf, Nadia: pirate shirt).

reply

Oh, I missed the detail with the clothes. Perfect - good to know :)

So, we got the ideal Happy Ending.

reply

I’ve missed that as well. Will need to rewatch the last scene.

reply

Seems like they remembered each other at the end as well. Btw what was that parade at the end about?

reply

A metaphor for the carnival of life. Similar to the final dance in 'Zatoichi'.

reply

Thanks for sharing this, it really helped explain a lot.

reply

Or the final scene from Fellini's 8 1/2.

In the IMDB trivia section it says that they pitched it as a 3 season series, so they definitely have a plan for where to take it next. It seems to be getting a positive response. I'd be really surprised if it isn't renewed.

same people in time loop again?

It could work with different characters but just not the same ones.

reply

Good to know, there will be more --- definitely interested to see, how they would continue ---

But if I should guess - I would say they do it as an anthology series - like xfool suggested.

I was thinking the same thing, but I came up with the notion that maybe they'll try to merge all the timelines together so that their friends and loved ones aren't suffering in the other timelines? Like fix things for Ruth and the mom or something?

reply

Thought it was very funny but no need for a second season. One and done is best.

reply

Was wondering the same so I had to re-watch that part. They do end the movie with both wearing the clothes of the "enlightened" ones in the same "timeline".

Although I doubt they were "timelines" per se (multiverse, bla bla). There is no explanation for that so ... but that's not that important.
