I liked the ending

It always bothered me that everyone forgot what happened in the original novel and (I believe) the original miniseries. I get the dramatic side of it but always felt like they were cheated by not remembering all the sacrifices made.

Pennywise made them all forget, so all of his scares would be new again, until being in the local area (Derry) reminded them of their childhoods. But with Pennywise dead, no more amnesia.

That makes sense but didn't they forget about it all at the end of the book? I really like the idea that they forgot because of Pennywise and once he was gone they kept the memories.

reply

They forgot in the book, yes, but screen adaptations make changes all the time, and this movie had Stephen King's blessing, like the first Chapter. Heck, he even appears in it.

the ending took forever, like the whole movie. trim that thing down.
