Finally seeing this tomorrow, I really need to know one thing

How long does the opening homophobic attack scene last and when does it begin so I can leave the theater and come back when its over? I had to do this 8 years ago when I saw Real Steel because a similar scene happens halfway through that movie. Fucking toxic masculinity!

reply

I wouldn't skip it, however uncomfortable it may be to view, as it shows the true evil of IT and how it flourishes in a negative atmosphere. HOWEVER, there is a positive homosexual attitude in the movie as well, to counter the homophobia.

reply

I honestly would skip it if you are sensitive to it. I did not like the scene, but things like this happen in life. The scene is right at the beginning of the movie and lasts about 5 minutes.

reply

So when is the timestamp? The attack lasts 5 minutes but when is the scene over or what do the homophobes flee?

reply

The scene is over when Pennywise attacks one of the gay men. I wish that Pennywise got the homophobes.

reply

I hope a deleted scene is made where the homophobes are arrested by police and are questioned, like in the novel.

reply

I don't think that will happen.

reply

Then that's bullshit! Might as well include the orgy scene, just to add insult to injury!

reply

Jesus christ, get a life.

reply

Calm down! I was being sarcastic!

reply

Whew, xanax taken.. there is simply no need for sarcasism in 2019.

*jazz hands*

reply

Pennywise is more likely to SIDE with the homophobes, as bullies stick together and target the innocent. Very much like Pennywise sided with Bowers' bully gang to target the innocent Losers.

reply

I'd like to skip that scene too, I really don't want to see two guys making out and taking it in the backside.

reply

I know, makes you really hot to trot, doesn't it?

reply

We both know they are not going to show much so what is the point?

reply

Did you watch or leave?

reply

I want to the lobby, during that scene and returned once it was over. Had they kept the part from the novel where the cops arrested and interrogated them, I would've stayed for that scene.

reply

Understandable. It was set up so much better in the book. It was just shock value in the movie.

Anyway, good for you! Always stand up and fight for what you believe in :-)

reply

Yeah, I really hope a deleted scene surfaces where the asshole homophobic bullies are arrested and framed for Adrian's murder and sent to prison, after being questioned by the police. You cannot have injustice in a Stephen King story, Goddammit!

I can understand why that scene wasn't in the actual movie, since its over 3 hours long, but there's no excuse for a deleted scene. That was a very important part of the novel to not be included in the actual film. I really hope Andy Muschietti adds that scene. That was bullshit that those punks got away with assault and battery. Karma Houdini is very bad writing!

reply

What a whiny cuck you are Cody. How do you survive in this world?

reply

Well, you don't have to be a dickface about it. Chill out, dude!
