The Kaspbraks being attacked

Did IT really kidnap Eddie's mother and strap her to a chair in the basement of Keene's Pharmacy so that the Leper could torture her and Eddie try to save her, or were both Sonia and the Leper IT manifestations to terrify Eddie? I think the latter, to be honest.

Seriously?

His mother was obviously an illusion.

How is that confusing?

LOL

reply

OK, so I wasn't sure! But yes, Eddie really cares for his mother (even if he doesn't like Richie to see him kiss her) so this traumatic scene really pushed his protective instincts towards her.

reply

Dude, what are you talking about? Stop trying to make a bad movie more sophisticated than it actually was.

This film sucked. Deal with it.

LOL!

reply

This was a GREAT movie! STFU or I'll ignore your ass.

reply

They were just manifestations :) I'm glad you enjoyed the movie! I did as well :)

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm pretty sure his mom is just an illusion created by Pennywise/IT. I've read the book, and if I remember correctly, Eddie's mom is already dead/passed away (I think from old age) during the 27 years later. So the movie is probably doing that and didn't give any hints she died/passed away. I think his mom was dead too in the adult half of the Tim Curry movie.

The scene I'm describing from the 2019 movie is a flashback to Eddie's past, in 1989. It was one of the times that IT attacked him.
