This really sucked
I actually laughed out loud when James McAvoy yelled “I hate you! I hate you!” at the sewer after retrieving his “artifact”, then went all emo on that one kid.
You could tell McAvoy was struggling with the bad dialogue.

Lol!!
shareOh look, a resident troll tries to make himself big like a certain clown.
Who is trolling whom, I wonder...
shareI just wonder why people bash this movie? They should at least indicate if they didn't like the first one, neither.
Bit hypocritical critical of you , considering how much you have bashed TROS, a movie that’s not even realised!!!!
shareTROS is a disaster in the making:
I don't like the new characters
I never liked the concept of the ST in the first place
Disney Star Wars is A Bad Thing
Why don't people get off my back about bashing that oncoming train wreck?
You have no idea if its going to be a train wreck, yet you criticize people that have seen this movie because they think it sucks ?
do you see my point ?
TROS is in the future, so obviously I can't see it yet, but I will.
IT Chapter 2 has been out for half a week, so I have seen it, and I liked it a lot and considered it a worthy follow-up to the original. Same writer, same director, half the cast is the same, so I cannot figure out why opinion on it is so divided, unless they just don't like adults doing what children did in the previous movie. Unless they don't like the book, neither.
Pot meet kettle. Because you have your mind made up before seeing a film which shows you are closed minded. Which in turn means you are not credible or worth listening to.
shareI think you replied to the wrong person, MF.
I made my mind up about the Sequel Trilogy years ago. I'm not interested. Get it, now?
No I replied to you. Your credibility is shot. Why should i listen to someone as closed minded as you? Why should anyone?
shareIgnore me, then. Why are you still replying to someone you don't want to listen to?
Just thought I'd give you some advice. People like you are not worth listening to. Also you are a hypocrite. You criticize people for bashing a movie they haven't seen yet turn around and do that for the Disney Star Wars films. Ignorance and hypocrisy of this level showcases what's wrong with the world today.
shareIf you want to think nothing but nice things about the Sequel Trilogy, then just go ahead, stick your fingers in your ears and hum real loud. But that won't detract from the basic fundamental truth that the ST is a pile of crap.
According to who you? A subjective opinion. Learn the difference between subjective and objective. If it's a fundamental truth you will have no problem providing objective data. You have the floor go ahead provide the truth that is objective.
Which means something that your personal opinion has no bearing on. I will wait. The one making a claim must provide proof. So burden of proof is on you. Go ahead smart one. If you fail it means you made a bogus claim backed up by nothing other than subjective opinion. I didn't make a statement or bogus claim you did.
Many people liked TFA (I didn't, but that's not the point).
Many people didn't like TLJ (I despised it, but that's not the point).
I tend to ignore the shill movie critics who gave both movies high marks, because their earnings come from Disney who otherwise will not give them a bean if they bash the movie.
Put it this way, how do you explain RottenTomatoes? The poor audience ratings for TLJ vs the high critic ones? One side is obviously in Disney's pocket.
All irrelevant. Where is that fundamental truth you claimed? Remember it can't be subjective, it has to be objective. For instance 2+2=4. That is an objective fact. If you or I say I disagree I think it=5 we would be wrong. Our opinion has no bearing on this fact. Provide the objective facts for this fundamental truth.
Second Disney pays off critics? I guess they forgot to mail off check for Aladdin and lion king and Dumbo live action remakes huh?
We've had this discussion before. I'm shutting this down right now, I've given you your answer.
Which is no answer lol. Don't make baseless claims! It makes you look ignorant!
shareIt's my opinion, OK? I'm sure I said that in some previous conversation we had.
Then why did you say fundamental truth? See how ignorant you made yourself look? It isn't a fundamental truth it's your opinion. Notice I don't say that kind of stuff.
shareSorry, I was joshing before. "Fundamental truth" is a memorable Doctor Who quote, and "stick your fingers in your ears" was from a funny Babylon 5 moment. I just felt like typing them out.
What am I supposed to do? Say "IMHO" in each of my posts? I wonder if MovieChat supports signatures...?
You made another bogus claim as well. If Disney pays off critics did they forget to mail off check for the live action Dumbo, Aladdin and Lion King? All those got bad reception. Second did it ever occur to you that sometimes critics or fans disagree and there isn't a hidden conspiracy? Nope of course not bevause you are insecure and need validation. So if someone doesn't agree with you something must be wrong with them. They can't just have a different opinion and it be ok.
shareMaybe I am insecure. I really wanted this movie to be rated well by both groups. Then again, 63% Critics and 80% Audience is not bad for a follow-up to a higher-rated movie.
And point proven. Simply because critics disagree with you on a film you will create some lame conspiracy theory as to why they rated it that high. You know I disagree with critics also but I just go yeah I disagree. I don't have to resort to a juvenile antic and make up a stupid conpiracy theory like you.
sharePretty sure that's kind of how the dialogue is supposed to be. When they return to Derry and/or get called by Mike to come back to Derry, it essentially makes them revert to their child selves again.
shareIt was... okay.
The second half of the book was always 50% less interesting than the first, and the film is about the same.
They seemed to lean a lot more towards comedic one-liners this time.
