He is played by Nicholas Turturro, who is of Italian descent like his brother John Turturro. But, he doesn't look white at all. I find it hard to the believe that Felix, who was so convinced about Flip being a jew, had no problem with the dark skinned guy.

He definitely didn't look like a WASP. I find it hard to believe that a guy who looked so ethnic could ever get into the KKK. Seeing him play the role he did in the film was actually quite jarring.
