A necessary message: Without conflict nor debate, there cannot be progress.

I realized that after watching this film, and taking into account the juxtaposition of Mr. Belafonte's scene with David Duke's White Power speech, that as human beings we will always have fear and hatred for thy neighbor. However, we are moving into the right direction if we can still talk about our primal fears, which in our case are based upon every possible DIFFERENCE between human beings: Race, sex, religion, economic status... So I'd say this film is important. It has its flaws, but still, it's a necessary one.
