Really?

This sounds to me like someone discovered "A Quiet Place" being filmed and decided to make another horror movie about being silent.
I guess that is the way it goes in Hollywood. Someone makes a good movie and soon, a hundred imitators jump on the band wagon.

Was thinking the same thing. And while A Quiet Place was a decent enough movie, it was also one where after you watched it you also realized that it has so many plot holes that it wasn't even funny. I was hoping Netflix would spend their money on making new films not remaking films that were still fresh in the viewers minds.

reply

I liked a Quiet Place, but couldn't agree more on why is Netflix spending their money on something so unoriginal? What a waste.

reply

I liked A Quiet Place a lot...but...
I haven't seen this but I read it's based on a 2015 book and is coincidental to have the same theme. I also read it's like a pale imitation.
Films lacking originality is hardly anything new, is it?.
I might check it out some night when I'm ready for sleep and bored.

reply

Don't try to watch it when you're ready for sleep and bored unless you want it to put you to sleep. It was all I could do to get through it without falling asleep. I thought they had plot holes in the Quiet place movie but this one goes to a whole new level of plot holes.

They even ripped off having a deaf child to justify the family all knowing how to sign.

reply

Yep, but just to make sure the deaf kid could speak the gave her the only lost her hearing 2 year ago BS... But the best part was when the deaf girl proclaim she has the advantage of knowing how to live in silence... I had to laugh at the stupidity of that comment. Sure she knew how to exist in silence but had no clue about how much noise she was making when she did something which all the really mattered when the monsters are noise seeking missiles.

Tucci is an A list actor so I wonder what he was thinking unless they didn't know or they went ahead with it anyway.

This began shooting in 2017 and is based on a book from 2015.
