It's Truly a Great "Mood Piece", with an Outstanding Performance and Music, but story is just lacking a bit

It's not a story driven film, it's a character driven film. It's about Arthur, its not about what shenanigans he gets up to.

Its screenplay is the least interesting part of it. It's an incredibly easy story to write. It's in the acting, the direction, and the score that its brilliance shines.

Frankly its a interesting character study and why you shouldn't treat mental ill people like shit. Phenoix dose a good job in this movie. But besides that i don't think its that great. I have no intention of ever watching it again and don't know who you make a sequel to this.

Yes, it won the Oscars it deserved. I don't think it was Best Picture material but the Aca-dumb-y selected a weak field and it was definitely better than some of the other nominees. That said, it should have got a Production Design nom.
