turning comic figures into human characters

I am not a fan of the Comic figure transformation into "our" wold by giving them
more human characterization explaining why they are what they are. I like Comics stay comics and don't relate too much to our world. Of course you need motivations for the characters but turinig them more and more into our world makes the movies less creative in my eyes. Inventing a Gotham that is not New York. Try toinvent a Comic world that is not the same as ours is more interesting in my eyes. Sadly it is since Dark knight when Gotham turned to post 9/11 New York and made Joker a terrorist - because it was post 9/11 and the war on terror still a great theme...

You could also say that straight comic characters look silly and out of place in the "real world".

I can't watch MCU movies because of this. I can't seem to warp my suspension of disbelief around them, except the 78 Superman Movie.

But I'm sure that's due to nostalgia goggles.

There can be many types of comics. There's a place for MCU style goofy fantastical comicbook movies as it is so for more realistic takes of them. We can have both, which is better.
