What is the Appeal of this Movie

Saw it last night. This movie was BAD!

reply

Are you not able to articulate why you thought it was bad?

reply

If you didn't feel it, there is no explaining it to you. I have seen it three times and people applauded at the end. You are in the minority on this one. People love this movie.

Like I said we all have our own opinions. I didn't think it was a very good storyline but I recognize that others would like it. Interesting enough though is the fact at the theater I saw it at most of the people walked out going : What the hell was that supposed to be?

reply

Like I said, I saw it three times, all at different theaters, and people seemed quite impressed with the movie. Also, I have never been to a movie in recent years where the moviegoers were so quiet. No one was talking or looking at their phones. The patrons at the theater you saw the movie at are not a good representation of what people think of this movie. Seeing people are still going in big numbers shows that positive word of mouth is helping to keep the box office receipts high.

Much has been written about how great it is, and why, so you have ample opportunity to find out what its appeal is. Perhaps you should offer your reasons for thinking it's so BAD?

reply

I doubt you saw it.

reply

It's great because it a drama with CB elements.

It's not an actual super hero/"CB Movie"

Seems like it's for Generation Y kids -- the ones that are really into claiming they have mental illnesses to be cool and different (?), while also being into comic book movies. Also, there's the vaguely "woke and politically active" dimension to it, which makes no sense... but that generation doesn't really need their politics to make sense; they just think you need to protest in groups against random things like the fact that some people wear suits to their jobs and happen to be kinda well off financially ???
