Mainstream Media reviews: Apparently, After All That Drama, 'Joker' Is a Terrible Bad Movie

Article from Vice talking about how critics from the most mainstream among the mainstream media have reviewed the movie:

https://www.vice.com/en_asia/article/a354wj/joker-todd-phillip-movie-2019-reviews

■ The New York Times: Joker, an empty, foggy exercise in second-hand style and second-rate philosophizing

■ The Guardian: The year’s biggest disappointment has arrived

■ Associated Press: “Joker,” is a calculatedly combustible concoction

■ Slate: Joker is a bad movie, it’s predictable, clichéd, deeply derivative of other, better movies, and overwritten to the point of self-parody.

■ The New Yorker: "Joker” is a wannabe movie

■ The Wall Street Journal: the production is a nonstop generator of anxiety, a poor substitute for dramatic intricacy. If you’re feeling insufficiently anxious in your life, “Joker” could be just the ticket. If not, look elsewhere to be entertained.

That's not surprising. A certain wing of the media has been waging a campaign against this movie. And of course vice is among them, celebrating bad reviews.

I tend not to give too much credence to critics these days. They all tend to breathe with a single breath; loving or hating certain films very predictably.
I'll give it a shot primarily because of all the opposition... when it pops up online.

They don't like it because the movie is an indictment of American society. It delves into how criminals and mass murderers are born. They don't like looking at something that spells it out so clearly. Does that justify any of what Joker does? Of course not, but it does explain how people who are mentally ill or disenfranchised can go so wrong. Everyone talks about how the movie emulates Taxi Driver and King Of Comedy, but I saw a lot of Howard Beale from Network in the character Joker, especially toward the end of the movie.

Lol so after they could not boycott the movie by making it seem dangerous they try to make it seem bad.
Big oof.

Guess it's all that's left, now that all their best efforts to will a mass shooting into existence have failed.

This movie is a liberals wet dream. More hate against white people because it portrays angry unstable white man shooting people. A war against the wealthy by the poor. Chaos. ANTIFA - like clowns everywhere.
