I don't think it will. No one turns into a mass shooter or psycho killer because of a movie.

no they don't, but a movie might be all that's needed to push a psycho over the edge.

I think it's entirely possible. Remember that crazy guy in Colorado who colored his hair as the Joker and shot up the premiere of Dark Knight Returns, killed at least 10 people. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again.

Yep. Happens all the time. I remember a spike in breakfast shootings by every single person in the mid 90s after seeing Pulp Fiction, dubbed the Big Kahuna Burger Killings by the media. This will be no different.

Yep, I remember it well there was one incident where a guy was shot because he refused to allow the shooter to wash down his Big Kahuna Burger with his tasty beverage.

I forgot about the tasty beverage uprisings. A shortage of tasty beverages, and even a brief 6 month period where Big Kahuna Burger prohibited them completely, added to the mass hysteria. Thus creating a tasty beverage blackmarket and racial tensions.

Really? Because I remember things quite differently. I remember there being no spikes in breakfast shootings, because the movie's message of "live by the sword, die by the sword" hammered into everyone's skull that if you live violently, you will either get killed yourself or have something else really shitty happen to you by other scumbags (like anal rape).

They closed down most Big Kahuna Burger restaurants for a day. I remember because I wanted a cheeseburger for breakfast and they were all closed in my city. It was unfortunate since cheeseburgers are the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast. Surprised you don’t remember.

i think it will inspire as much as anything else, if a cbm triggered someone, than it would just be something else if this never existed. so either way people will be psychos regardless of film

I hope so. why is human survival the axiomatic good? Because all the DNA that did not predispose the harboring of such an axiom went extinct. We are slaves to DNA and the futile cycle of death and rebirth. Human extinction is the path to emancipation, it is the path to Nirvana.

Do any of these factors actually applies to mass shooters? Unless I'm mistaken, single parent household numbers are heavily skewed to blacks but mass shooters tend to be white. Divorce has been falling for at least 20 years. And belief in god has barely changed by more than a few percentage points.

Columbine was a huge factor, those kids got addicted to bombs, guns..bought many guns on the Internet. Participated/Posted in hate groups on the Internet..Eric/Dylan learned how to build bombs on the Internet..They played violent video games(of course)..Eric was a psychopath, Dylan was his follower..Parents didn't bother to know what their kids were actually doing..Columbine was terrorism and I think it's largely responsible for spawning the terrorism(mass shootings) we see today. Would any of this happened without the Internet? I don't know for sure but it's seems an easy way for troubled people to find ways to feed their dark side.

Dude, USA is a nation of mass shootings. Not a month goes by without a mass shooting in the land of the free.
They've blamed video games, books, tv shows, movies, ISIS, religion, anything and everything but free access to guns.
This movie is just noise - might lead to more blaming, but does it matter?

From the article: "There doesn't seem to be an official definition for a "mass shooting" in the United States, but according to the Gun Violence Archive, a mass shooting is described as four or more individuals being shot or killed in the same general time and location."

Since there is no clear definition of mass shooting, it can be goalposted to fit any narrative you wish.

Also from the article: "According to data from the Gun Violence Archive , a total of 316 mass shooting incidents have occurred as of November 14. With the addition of Tuesday's school shooting, the total reaches 317."

Ok lets do the math from 2017s alleged numbers...

316 mass shootings, divided by 320 million Americans...

This means you have a 0.0000009875% chance of being a victim of a mass shooting. With the highest probability being in only a handful of locations in large shithole cities. Basically, if you don't want to get shot, do go where you shouldn't be in the city.

I literally have 0 fear I'm going to get shot, and I drive through the ghetto every day. I'll take those odds over a tyrannical government any day.

Err... Neil Tyson already mentioned that. USA is still the country of mass shootings, given the number of mass shootings happening there as opposed to the rest of the world (other than the countries which were 'liberated' by the land of the free - where bombings are a daily occurence).
