I wish Daniel and Ali ended up together.

I never watched any of The Karate Kid sequels or remakes, but the 1984 original is one of my favorite eighties films. I think the same could be said for a lot of people.

After watching S1&2 of Cobra Kai I wished that Daniel's wife had been Ali instead of the random Amanda. I mean, Ali was one of the core characters in the original film, one of the big reasons why Daniel and Johnny hated each other, arguably the female lead. But then in Cobra Kai she's just nonexistent? I was excited to see at the end of S2 that she was coming back, but then I see on Wikipedia she only came back for two episodes? I haven't watched S3 yet but this still disappoints me.

Idk, the whole reunion aspect of Daniel and Johnny feels hollow without Ali being there as Daniel's wife, or at least longer than two episodes.

The thing that bothered me more was she was going to kiss Johnny at the end of the fairground reunion before being interrupted but then after the group reunion she tells johnny she's happy for him but no awkward you were going to kiss me while you were seeing another lady in the last meet.

reply

Well she's not perfect. She was having a really great time with Johnny then they had a moment. It happens in real life more than you may think. Sometimes it works out for people in that situation, and sometimes they regret it later.

The thing was she told her mum i have some plans in an excited way at the start of the episode as she was single now.

So i assume she was really ready to get on back with her ex-Johnny as long as they still liked each other again.

So they interrupted before kissing - which can happen with an ex and your on the rebound no issues there - Johnny would have known better but heat of the moment it can happen.

But what i meant was wouldn't she been alittle pissed to find out her rebound-ex she was really getting back into again and he almost kissed her actually was in love with another girl already.

So no apologies from Johnny for the attempted kiss or say it was misunderstanding.

Ali just swept it under the carpet with her swooning over his new found love.

She didn't know Johnny was seeing someone when they were at the fairground. She found out at the Christmas party when Daniel's wife told her, so that's why she said to Johnny "I hear you're seeing someone you really, really like..(well, something to that effect)" and reverted any sparks they had back to friendship, out of respect, which was the right thing to do, and well, he really IS into Miguel's Mom, and admitted that to Ali after she mentioned it.

He knew, however, and he was still going to kiss her. That's what the other person is saying.

its both parties, Johnny should have been more apologetic about trying to kiss her or have an excuse and Ali should have been more pissed but it got swept under the carpet.

Her character is off in this show. This show is so obsessed with showing that "nobody is wrong" it's always a misunderstanding.

She and Johnny left on pretty bad terms. Worse terms than her and Daniel. She and Daniel just broke up and moved on. I thought it was absolutely hilarious we found out she literally just TALKED TO another guy and Daniel lost his cool btw. I always figured she met a college guy and dumped Daniel. When it was apparent she was going to be in this show, I even wondered if that guy would turn out to be her husband. But I laughed my ass off when it was revealed Daniel got mad she said hi to some guy. She and Johnny broke up, she literally hit him, he broke her radio, and he bullied Daniel; which bothered her.

When they are all saying goodnight and Johnny and Daniel are busting each other's balls, she was all, "There's your version, your version, and the truth." The two have had several miscommunications, rush to judgement, bust each other's balls NOW, but there is absolutely no disputing their issues in HS were because Johnny bullied him. It's not up for debate. Christ, Johnny admits at the end of the movie that "Larusso is ok." Daniel earned his respect by beating him in the tourney. Ali was undoubtedly on Daniel's side. It was a little odd she tried to portray the whole thing as one big misunderstanding.

Nah. Amanda is awesome. Ali is cool but she’s his past.

Not a lot of people end up with their high school sweethearts, so if anything, that would have felt forced to me, like they are trying very hard to make everything fit. It's just cheesy.

She wasn't even in the second movie. She dumped Daniel-san for some college guy after a couple of months.

It's kind of ironic that Shue and Ali outdid the series and their co stars with their careers. I think Ali was too sophisticated for Daniel.

Well you just wasted your first wish on characters in a fictional movie. You have two wishes left. Let me guess - wish #2 is for unicorns to also grow wings and be able to fly, and your third wish will be for around 70% of the Earth's surface to be covered with water.

Ali was way too good for Daniel. Ali was mature for her age and had a bright future ahead of her. Daniel, on the other hand, was a hotheaded immature brat who deserved much of the trouble that came his way. If you watched the sequels it would make it abundantly clear that Ali made the right decision by dumping him, especially how he acts in part III. There are tons of examples, but I don't want to spoil anything. The sequels are great fun.

Daniel and Ali never made a good couple. She only dated him for a few months (very likely out of sympathy) before dumping the the wimp. She had better chemistry with Johnny and both were clearly still attracted to each other. They would have been a great couple had they rekindled their romance.
