Curious, I’ve seen many folks referring to televisions seasons as “series” more and more. Wonder when and why this has come about. Regional maybe?

shareYes, when I read your post, I thought to myself that you had to from England. Whenever I watch shows like Sherlock etc. I notice how it's referred to as Series 1, Series 2 and so on. In the U.S. what we call a series is the whole show. So over here we would say "I like the series Sherlock better than the series Broadchurch, but season 4 of Broadchurch was superior to both season 3 and 4 of Sherlock.

shareBest season so far. And I think they improved on stuff that was weak. Such as Demitri. I HATED him last season. Just plain obnoxious and irritating. This season, he was much better. Better acted, better written. The acting is pretty great all around. The actors for Hawk, Miguel, and Tory especially are good. And of course Zabka and Macchio are great. Macchio especially i think really got more to do this season to show how good of an actor he is.
Only small negative is the amount of crimes the kids commit in Cobra Kai is a little ridiculous. I find it hard to believe they'd all full blown break into Daniel's house and assault everyone there. Even for legit delinquents that's stupid. And Kreese trying to murder both Johnny and Daniel, like full blown kill them, was a little ridiculous. However, Daniel vs Kreese in the finale is also maybe the best moment of the whole series.
I also felt they could have done more with Robbie. I know lots of people don't like him, but I think they made him into too much of a bad guy. I wish they had touched more on the fact that he was the only one who tried to stop the school fight. He was the one who tried to be calm and say they could work it out. Obviously he still almost killed Miguel, but they could have done more with that.

You don't have to wait until you finish the season to come to the board, but you should be well aware there's going to be spoilers. That's why I don't go to a board of a show or movie that I haven't seen that I don't want to get spoiled. Spoiler warnings would still be nice, as this poster could have done, but you have to use common sense too.

I simply mentioned....if you're going to call out a bunch of specific plot points....it's pretty customary to mention spoilers are coming. This, in case there IS someone who hadn't yet completed the entire season. This is entirely possible. Someone shouldn't have to completely finish the season before stumbling upon a thread saying "I finished Season 3!" and being curious. If you noticed...all the conversations were high-level (meaning non-specific)...and were about the enjoyment of the season itself...and about how a season can be called a "series" in other parts of the world. Nobody...was discussing specific plot points. When someone DID decide to....it would have been a good call to mention "Spoilers Coming". It's just.....a customary courtesy on this site. You'll see it often. And the mere mention of this....should not generate a rude and ballastic reply.
Again.....I didn't come to this particular thread with any illusions that there wouldn't possibly be spoilers. But occasionally...there may be someone who DOES come to the thread having NOT finished Season 3. Someone who has been enjoying the various seasons and likes checking out various conversations as they go along.
1. Season 3 has only been out 9 days. Not sure how you finished it weeks ago.
2. Your first reply wasn't exactly polite. Pretty aggressive from the start. Maybe if you had said, "Just incase people haven't seen it, you should really put a spoiler warning at the top". Pretty simple and polite way of putting it, no? Instead of "Spoilers anyone????".

A bit too much fillers in going to the past as well as Robbie’s jail time((though Kreese’s complex past was interesting)
The show worked better when Daniel & Johnny were enemies
Is Kreese really an viable opponent? I mean he’s in his early 70’s, only way he’s going to win an fight if he cheats(thus turning the show into an clear good vs bad guys when it worked better in the grey area)
need to get the high school end resolved, otherwise we’re going to see an endless smorgasbord of teen angst played by actors turning into their late 20’s/early 30’s.
being the most interesting teen, Tory deserved some romance, though it’s indicated that she’ll eventually hook up with Robby, we really don’t know that & they could of done that this season all ready
too summarize; the show obviously works best when it’s got it’s own identity. But then it wants to go back to the past to the movie storylines. But if we remember; Myogi beat up Kreese twice within seconds, so why try to make Kreese the main, almost invincible villain?(now that he’s in early /mid 70’s)

shareI just can’t believe the shit these kids get away with. The posse storming the house and beating the shit out of the kids inside should all be in prison or Juvi. They even break the other kids arm earlier and nothing happens? Anyway looking forward to next season.

The same stuff used to happen in the karate kid films they're probably just carrying on with that.
Even miyagi beating up Johnny and his mates would of been arrested but nothing came of it.
Saying that Johnny was arrested in series 1 for beating up them kids while helping Miguel.
