did they have to outfit Ralph Macchio with such an obvious piece?

I mentally roll my eyes every time I am forced to look at it. πŸ™„

...what?

reply

I am talking about his toupee.

Not sure what the point is if it's so obvious.

reply

I have no proof of this at all but he did seem to have very perfect hair...it looked a little funny

reply

What proof do you need when it's not even the same color as the rest of his hair?..

reply

I didn’t notice it.

reply

You guys gotta be kidding me! It's so obvious it's not his hair! It's not even a good toupee!

reply

I gotta say . . .I don’t mind a toupee, if it makes a guy feel better, go for it.

reply

Looks like his natural hair to me. He hasn’t aged much so I wouldn’t be surprised if he still had a full head of hair.

reply

Facepalm.

reply

Wigs on, Wigs off.

reply

LOL

reply

good one.

reply

LOL

reply

Ho ho... Very good!

reply

LOL @ how bad this thread is failing you.

reply

Yeah, I suppose it's kinda funny.

I don't really care either way, but am definitely surprised that this would be news to anyone. It's just so obvious!

reply

It might be a wig, who knows. I'm not disputing it could be, it's just funny no one thought it was obvious as you did; and your reactions are hilarious.

reply

If you say so. [shrug]

I mean, I am really feeling like l am in the Twilight Zone here. One where no one can see that the top piece is a different color and texture and doesn't even align with the hair below.

reply

He's been losing his hair for decades - he is obviously a lot younger in this pic, for instance:
https://www.hitc.com/static/uploads/2020/09/GettyImages-104961172.jpg

And no, no one has jet black hair at age 60. That whole part that looks like a bad combover is a toupee.

reply

1. The picture you posted doesn't show balding. There's thining but that could also be due to exposure from the light.
2. Before a wig is used, productions tend to use a dark coloring spray to hide thining. He obviously has hair in the photo you posted so this is a more viable situation. Brendan Fraser has really thin hair and they did this for the Mummy.
3. Most actors on screen have dyed hair. It looks really funny when you see their age and realize how fake it all looks.
4. He could use hair transplants to reduce the look of thining, But I see no scarring on his head or chin. My brother is doing that and it leaves a lot of Mark's.
5. Let's say he is wearing a wig. It only emphasizes his douchey character traits in this show which works. Daniel is a tool in this show.

Extra high forehead means hair loss. Not sure why this needs to be explained.

But he's obviously been wearing toupees for decades, too.

reply

Now your grasping at straws. Your photo doesn't show an extra high forehead. Plus there are a lot of people with high foreheads that aren't balding. So your generalization is wrong.

Oh well, it seems like you're the only one who cares, so enjoy looking at that mop and being annoyed by it.

reply

Oh FFS.

If you don't see it that's certainly not my problem.

reply

Lol. It is your problem because you're the one complaining about it.

If someone disagrees with you, you have reply. It's totally on you. Lol. Have fun watching Macchio's hair.

reply

Have fun being blind and clueless, I guess?.. πŸ™„

reply

It is definitely your problem. No one else seems to notice it nor care. GTFOH already.

reply

I know woman with extra high foreheads and they are not losing their hair. That said. Yes Macchio probablynl does wear a piece or they spray topix to thicken it up a bit. Not a big deal. But they do need to match the color better. He has a mix of brown and black. Now if hes not wearing or using topix and just thinning it could also look like he just grew it ou and combing it flat and to the side to make it look thicker. Again not a big deal. Hes almost 60 and most men do not have their youthful bouncy thick hair at 60 even if they do not go bald.

reply

Well, he actually had a pretty low hairline when he was young, so yes, in his case high forehead can only mean hair loss.

reply

Because it's not noticeable wiseass.

reply

I think the fanboys are just too blind.

I am more indifferent, and therefore more objective. (It might also be that as a woman I am more observant.)

Besides, I really can't imagine taking some comment about someone's appearance on a friggin' show as a personal affront.

But then, I can certainly guess why you do. Oh well.

reply

I had a great uncle who passed away at 82 with a full head of brown hair. Except for a little gray at the sides it was still brown. I on the other hand have been gray since 22. Thankfully it's all still there.

Ralph Macchio, who turns 60 this year, blames his parents for his "young gene"

https://people.com/tv/cobra-kai-ralph-macchio-on-his-age-defying-secret-and-second-act-after-karate-kid/

"They both look very young for their age," says Macchio. "I have a youthful energy about me for some reason. A healthy lifestyle doesn't hurt. But I think I've just gotten lucky in the gene department."

reply

Never noticed

reply

"In the country of the blind..."

reply

No I watched the show, people from that country wouldn't be able to silly

reply

Looks more like a bad combover to me.

reply

I actually noticed that when Chozen grabbed him by the hair in ep 5, it was purposely below the toupee. πŸ˜„

reply

Tell me, what's it like working in the "I noticed someone has a toupee" field?

reply

^ Odd response.

reply

I agree his hair seems to be good to be true but not sure if its a wig or it is actual hair transplant he's had done.

The colour difference could be him colouring his own grey hairs because if you have natural black hair, then you never ever die it with a proper black die but instead with abit brownish die because otherwise it make it obvious its a colour die.

reply

The first pic is from decades ago and he already had a receding hairline. I am guessing he's been wearing a piece for decades now, too.

I posted this on another forum, and there turned out to be someone there who actually met Macchio and posted a pic of them together. He says it's really obvious in person, too.

reply

if it a hairpiece, then its not too obvious as thought he had a hair transplant - if you going to look good for a long time why keep putting on a hairpiece everytime.

reply

I think people must be watching the show on really bad equipment or their phones or something, because if anything, it's extremely obvious that it's not part of his hair.

reply

Maybe i'm not good at noticing it then :-(

reply

But I mean, even on that second pic you posted you can tell that it's not only a different color but a different texture as well.

reply

i meant in the episodes, its different looking at a close up high quality picture but your normally looking at 29 frames a second and it ain't that noticeable.

To be honest with you, I don't really care if he has a hair piece or a hair transplant, it didn't bother me.

reply

I'm no expert, but bad wigs will typically hide a receding forehead. The parting of Macchio's hair at the top left goes way back revealing his receded hairline and makes it look like his real hair is being pulled forward.

reply

This is the strangest meltdown I have ever seen on the internet.

reply

Meltdown? I am having fun with it.
