My pet theory for season 2

So, there's been a lot of talk about Johnny and Daniel teaming up at some point in this series. I think, given the nature of these two characters, it's what the audience really wants to see, a la Rocky and Apollo, which is even referenced as a joke in one of the episodes. So the writers are clearly aware of this. It's always heartwarming to see former enemies become friends.

But what I think will happen in season 2 is Johnny, who has handled himself pretty well so far, will get into a conflict with an enemy that is beyond his ability. Whether it be Kreese or Mike Barnes or Terry Silver or even, my prediction, his own students turned against him by Kreese, Johnny will end up beaten and heartbroken, leading him to seek out Daniel for help and to make peace. After all, at that point, who else would he have to turn to?

Daniel will then have to admit that he, too, lost his way and forgot what Miyagi taught him about forgiveness. So he'll grudgingly give Johnny the benefit of the doubt. And once Daniel sees that Johnny has genuinely reformed, Daniel will tell Robby that it's ok and he should also give his dad another chance.

But I'm still divided over who the new "villain" should be or even if there should be a villain at all. Season 1 did brilliantly without a clear-cut villain. Kreese's cartoonish surprise visit at the end didn't fit with the rest of the series which was grounded so close to reality, so I hope they don't go that route.
