This film is a mess. The problems are too numberous to list.

Could have been a good flick with the right editing.

You say the film has numerous problems, too many to list.

Yet you can only name one?

You realise that you come across as someone who does not have a clue what they are talking about?

You come across as someone who has half watched a movie, been distracted, on your phone, on your PC etc and not paying attention to what is going on...and therefore did not get the movie, did not understand the plot and was just left confused as a result.

The casting! That Anabella Wallis is too pretty to be taken seriously. Why the hell wasn't she taken off duty when it was discovered she shot at that guy? And the ending was muddled, WTF? There are failings in story telling here.

That Anabella Wallis is too pretty to be taken seriously.

THAT IS ON YOU.

reply

Muddled ending...failings in storytelling...and an actress being too pretty.

You continue to be vague...why do you say the ending was muddled, what were the failings in storytelling?

reply

A pretty sheriff is fine, just act like a sheriff.

By all means, they need to cast more ugly women. All ugly casts from now on. In fact, anyone aspiring to be actor should neglect their health, let their teeth rot, and spend all time off set sitting on a couch eating cheetos.

I've got one: Why does the brother wear the ghillie suit and where did he get it? That is, other than "to misdirect the audience" and "From the prop Department."

reply

I thought the same, but then wondered if the real killer was mimicking tics of her brother and she mistook the real killer for her brother because earlier in the movie it was established that the killer knew her brother pretty well.

I actually really enjoyed this movie until The Ending/reveal of The Killers Motives...

I really get the feeling This movie might have been written and made with A total different "Motive" for the killer, But I think It was changed because It Killed Rayburn's characters redemption ark.

Once it was revealed The coroner was The Killer and It was revealed His daughter was killed by a drunk driver and was left to die in the Woods.....for Me The Ending was OBVIOUS, DARK and made The coroner's motives Clear

I thought They were going to reveal that Rayburn was The Drunk Driver that Killed The coroner's daughter.....that Rayburn Killed her in a hit and run and got away with it and somehow The coroner's figured out it was Rayburn and decided to Kill His daughter for revenge...Rayburn Killed his Daughter and left her to die in the woods, The coroner's Kills Rayburns daughter in the woods...

I then thought it would be revealed The Killer would then say something Like, "I thought Killing your daughter was going to be just for revenge, to take away from you what you took away from me....But ......I enjoyed it....It was The Ultimate RUSH and I just had to keep doing it"

This would perfectly explain the Killers Motives, Why specifically he Killed Rayborns daughter, Why he started Killing and Why he kept Killing

But I think it would BE DISASTROUS for Rayburns redemption ark....I think whoever made this film probably thought audience would Hate that ending revealing that Rayburn Killed His Daughter in a hit and run and wouldnt be able to like or care about the Rayburn character after that

But I honestly think Thats how the movie was originally written...Its the only thing that makes sense...

The Motives the Killer gives is fucking absurd......"I killed her because you are a drunk and she would grow up like you"??????...lolololol

reply

That would have been a great twist. If having your daughter killed by someone is motive to make you a serial killer, then the Jamie Lannister guy could have been the killer.

Editing is the least of its problems and I’m not even halfway through. When hunter (who acts well) sees bushman on video chasing a human he doesn’t immediately call the police? This is not a deer. It’s a human. Someone’s daughter, like his daughter, is being chased. Call the cops and then go. And I didn’t buy the sheriff as a cop for one minute. She looks familiar though. And I don’t know what a ghille suit is.

Well, they lazily took care of that by having him state earlier how he didn't have a telephone.
