While they referred to her only as "Sharon", she was married to Roman Polanski and went to see a movie starring Sharon Tate and acted out the parts, I am going to go out on a limb and say the part my Margo Robie was indeed Sharon Tate.

I certainly remember the name and looking up on the web it says Sharon Tate was murdered Aug 9, 1969, and that is the date they showed as they were on the plane. We all, or anyone my age, knew she was murdered by Charles Manson. There were those hippies from the ranch that came and broke into Rick Dalton's home. While often referred to the man as "Tex" they did mention a Charlie once. And they referred to another as Squeaky. So can we assume the people that broke in were Charles Manson and his gang? And they killed Sharon Tate, so Charles must have survived in Rick's House, and gone into Sharon's house and killed her after Rick had gone home again after having his drink? The movie ended before that happened.

Ummm no....the point of the film was that Sharon Survived. It's an alternate History film, like Inglorious Bastards..

this film's title starts with Once Upon a Time.......so it's telling you it's a work of fiction(though their using real names for some of the characters). The Manson murders were often decribed as the crime of the decade back then. Several movies, tv shows, documentaries & books have allready been made about it, plus probably hundreds of videos on youtube.

Just like an Mafia don, Manson ordered the hit by his followers on the Shanon Tate house. The house was owned by a music producer named Terry Melcher, who turned down Mason's songs that he composed. There's a lot more details to it than that(suggesting you research the web to see what actually happened.

btw.........Squeaky ended up trying to assassinate then President Ford 6 years later but falied

I believe Terry Melcher was his target after Melcher pulled out of a record deal Dennis Wilson was helping Manson with. I also believe Manson didn't know Melcher no longer lived at that house.

The reason for the Labianca murders, was to draw away attention from the real reason the Tate house was hit the night before.

a bit more too it as well........Manson would later claim he got his inspiration from the Beatles; White album song called Helter Skelter, that had some sort of hidden message to start an race war, so somehow in his crazed mind, all the killings would be blamed on black people

Watch the BBC Dennis Wilson - The Real Beach Boy (BBC documentary) chronicles Wilson's involvement with manson. The manson family live in his house with him till he moved out. The story of Melcher involvement is in Heroes & Villains with Dennis acting as the deal maker between manson and Melcher. Funny how manson 'sicked the dogs' on the house Melcher live in, when any house, anywhere, like the Labianca's home, would have done just as well. For the Helter Skelter bs. Not to mention Doris Day was Melcher mother and the names Wilson and Melcher never saw the light of day as Manson "friends" until years, decades later.

Melcher was the target. You'll find Wilson was also trouble with manson for changing the lyrics on a song he recorded for him. Also covered in the BBC doc.

I'm really confused as to why you're confused about this. It's an 'alternate reality' of the actual Tate murders.
