Very Odd Movie, teeters on Not Working, but the ending makes it worth while

Very Odd.

Just meanders for 2 and a quarter hours, some of which is really boring, some of which is mildly amusing, and then it does pull off a very good last act, with some craziness and then the final final scenes are really rather affecting.

I can't see how this could have worked without DiCaprio and Pitt, they had great movie star chemistry which carried it through the nothing happening first 2 hours.

Yeah I agree with this, although I wasn't really bored in the early parts of the film, more perplexed and curious if any of it was going to make any sort of narrative sense at any time. I'd almost given up and was just enjoying the Brad and Leo acting gymnastics when that amazing final act just blew me away.

It will be interesting to watch it again, with knowledge of the pay-off. Overall I think it stands up with the best of QT's work, and is memorable for me because it was almost nothing like I expected it to be, which for a fan is satisfying.

For me the film spent all it's time building the story before ending in a satisfactory act of blatent wish fullfillment. I was totally involved throughout, didn't find anything boring and had no sense of time passing. But it is interesting how differently people react to this film.

Not enough plot. Excellent acting. Tate story line is pointless (all she does is dance and giggle the whole time).
Ranch scene is super-tense, then deflates like a balloon.
Just gets a passing grade. 6/10.

I loved all of it
A visual feast for the eyes with a stupendously satisfying ending!
Best movie of the year..., so far
