So Quentin's go-to recipe when he's out of ideas...

...is to just take a piece of history that went a certain way, and make it go a different way, with some added fourth-wall breaking worldly revenge. IB, Django, and this. It reeks of laziness. It was already done much better and brought to its peak in Inglourious Basterds for instance, and I didn't need to see it again.

"Jews get revenge on Hitler! Black people get revenge on white people! And everybody (especially Hollywood cronies though) get revenge on the Manson family!"

How about a new unique idea?

Oh yeah, where? You going to actually respond with an argument, or just ironically be a dick?

reply

Dude... of anyone here is an asshole, it's you...

reply

Seeing how you were unable to read his comment because he or a moderator deleted it, you aren't exactly qualified to compare here. And seeing how you also were unable to respond with an argument on the topic, and only responded to insult me, I'd make a similar criticism toward you.

reply

"FFS go to a hooker and get it over with, dude!"

"You're in love with your left hand. Who could compare to that? But she is ugly af indeed."

"Buy a dictionary, doofus."

"Let it all out son, must be frustrating to feel so misunderstood."

"Too bad you don't show any proper research backing that blanket statement up. Now the only possible conclusion is that you are a racist."

"Watch it again and pay attention this time. Enjoy!"

"Hilarious insecurity. I'd say keep it up but it's clear that you can't."

"So saddening to read from people who go through life with no taste."

"Blew the wrong dad this morning?" "Spit it out before you talk dude."

The non-asshole everybody.

"When you think everyone is an asshole then it's really you." - hilarious, maybe you should take your own advice to heart.

Now, can we get back to the actual topic?

reply

What moron are you to think that you are alone?

reply

Are you saying you're an asshole? Glad we agree, if that's the case. Still no comment on the actual topic, or why it's so offensive to you.

reply

Offensive to me? Not in the slightest. I'm growing bored of our conversation.

reply

So it wasn't offensive to you in the slightest, yet you called me an asshole for posting it. Then it's made clear that you're a hypocrite and in fact an asshole yourself, and you... agreed with that.

As much as making you look like a total fool is somewhat entertaining, it wasn't the conversation I wanted to have. So if you're "bored" of it, maybe don't start this nonsense in the first place, because it really doesn't work in your favor.

reply

Lol! “Can we get back to the actual topic” coming from YOU of all people is fucking ripe. Maul, you’re the same snowflake that runs and hides whenever anybody has something oppositional to say to you. How many times have I asked you the SAME THING only for you to leave me on read? But hey, I’m the “full blown SJW” coming at you with the facts, right?

Don’t go stalking and/or attacking this person too, like you did to me and several others, you derranged fuck.

reply

Wow. So someone comes in here and starts talking nothing but trash out of nowhere, and you expect me to not respond? Especially when it's so obvious what a massive hypocrite they are? No. I'm going to respond and point it out.

You know, just how I pointed out that you're a liberal troll with your past postings, so people wouldn't waste time responding to bait. Which I guess is what this is all about - you still being butthurt about being so blatantly and laughably exposed, to where you couldn't continue your trollish ruse. How very sad.

reply

It happens to everyone, they get rich, famous, and spoiled but at the same time the demand for their art increases exponentially. Quentin changed Hollywood forever and made it fun along the way. Sure, I wish he was young and full of energy again but unfortunately that's not how it works.

reply

It's a 2 hour, 41 minute, drama that made $372 million worldwide without being a CGI-laden superhero flick. I guess even when he's "lazy" Tarantino kicks axx.

reply

comparing movies with cape-shit is a very low bar.

Lol

Indeed !!! 👍🏼

Yep. And it's do to his writing taking a hit. Beautiful setting, amazing characters but he doesn't do anything interesting with it.

reply

There is some empty filler here & there, but there are myriad interesting parts: The amusing satirical Bruce Lee confrontation; the great Spahn Ranch episode, which effectively creates an underlying sense of menace; and, of course, the entertaining hippie attack in the final act.

Additional gems include: The friendship and respect of Rick and Cliff; the audacious flamethrower sequence; Rick's breakdown with the precocious girl actor (not actress); the beautiful women throughout; the great cast, including several celeb cameos; the entertaining soundtrack; Brandi, the pit bull; Rick's meltdown in his trailer; Rick finally pulling off a quality acting scene via ad libbing; George Spahn not remembering Cliff; everything (surprisingly) turning out to be precisely as so-and-so said; the allusion to what MAY have happened to Cliff's nagging wife on the boat; the way it should have turned out on that infamous night; and the heartwarming close.

The movie is basically Tarantino's cinematic revenge on the wacko Manson dirtbags.

reply

By this formula, his next movie will be a western with Indians getting revenge on the US Cavalry.

reply

New version of Custer?

reply

He would have to work pretty hard to top "Little Big Man" with its crazy, over-the-top Custer character.

reply

Tarantino could have a lot of fun with that piece of history, like having Custer win at Little Big Horn.

reply

That wouldn't be narrative-friendly though.

reply

It doesn't seem like he cares much about being politically correct, e.g. the liberal use of the 'n' word in some of his flicks and the fact that, at heart, "Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood" is an anti-looney Left flick.

For some reason I had no idea Sean Astin said that. Nice

reply

I agree with Sean Astin.

reply

I've always referred to that as fiction.
90% of all movies and books are works of fiction.
That includes the biggest selling novel of all time.

The bible?

reply

This movie looks super cheap

How so?
